Late Again!

I have missed a family birthday again! I am so turning a new leaf in 2009. My little nephew, Logan, turned 1 at the end of November but I had it in my head it was the middle of December, argh, the frustration of it all!! Well, late or not, he is getting a card.

When was the last time you used SU"s brilliant blue?? I think I still have the original package I ordered 5 years ago. It was a good match to the October Afternoon paper I wanted to use and I love the outcome (it helps that most of the blue is covered up, lol). The green paper is the reverse of the striped side. This dinosaur was a dollar stamp I purchased at my LSS, I think it is by the Prima Company. When I saw it I thought it was a good image to have on hand for boy cards. The little cupcake is from another dollar stamp set. I colored everything with Copic markers and gave the cherry a drop of Crystal Effects for shine. I used my new Nestie Label One die and added a scrap of red rick rack for whimsy. The stitching is fake, it is a Denami Stamp I have had for awhile now. I actually think I will use up the rest of the paper to make several boy cards for my stash!
Years ago I attempted to scrapbook and found that it was too stressful for me. It took way too much time to complete a book and I always felt like it was hanging over my head. So, I have gone to the much more effective stuff-it-in-a-box method, LMBO! I did scrap calendars a couple of years ago using SU's desktop kits. I gave them to my mom and MIL. Of course, they were a big hit and the next year they expected a new one. I didn't deliver. Dang if I haven't felt guilty about it ever since!
This year I tried something new, a digi scrapping calendar. I downloaded this kit from Heather Ann Designs for $6.99. I spent about 2 hours putting it all together (and enjoyed it to boot!) and then printed it on my home printer. I used my Rubi-Coil to bind the tops. They look very professionally done, I am so pleased! The kit comes with different elements so you have a lot of creative choices you can make. If I can do it, anyone can. And it goes so fast you still have time to get it done. Here are 2 of the pages from the set.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a blessed day.

This is a great little boy card. It will help ease the fact that you were late with it *grin*
