More Green Thumb

Here are 2 more samples I sent in for the PaperTrey Green Thumb contest. I tried to create a variety of styles and it was a good stretch of my stamping. At least with this contest I still have my cards since all that was required was sending in a photo of your samples.

The first one was another play on polka dots. The background is the Cornish Farms dotted and the scalloped circle is from a piece of card stock stamped with the CHF reverse polka dot background. All the red on this card is chalk ink in warm red. The accents are always artichoke. I used a brass stencil to piece the design on the strip of artichoke. I make loads of strawberry freezer jam in the summer, this will make a nice card to go along with a jar of jam.

This second card all started with the vase punch I found on clearance at AC Moore! I punched out a piece of designer paper and took the color scheme from there. I used glue dots to adhere a scrap of turquoise ribbon around the neck of the vase and popped it onto dimensionals. There isn't really much explanation required for this one. It's kinda out there for me but like I said I was going for variety.

I spent much of my stamping time today working on swaps for an upcoming CNY SCS shoebox swap. I won't be able to show that for awhile but I will say they were a bit labor intensive! I took the boys swimming at the YMCA tonight and sat outside the pool area stamping and assembling. I got several funny looks from folks!!
Thanks for visiting.
