Sending You Smiles

Cornish Heritage Farms releases a stamp combo every month and it consists of usually a background and a few stamps, priced at a discount. Since I am lovin' what I have gotten in backgrounds lately I thought I would get the April combo. What a deal too...a background, the large daisy and a Happy Mothers Day sentiment all for 11.99 (I got the unmounted smart foam option). The background is the Victorian Sunflower one and here on my card I stamped it in marigold morning onto marigold card stock. It is subtle but oh so pretty. I tried my hand at creating a scalloped border with my corner rounder punch and as you can see it is far from neat and tidy!! I cut a strip of chocolate chip card stock to set it off even more. The sunflowers are stamped onto watercolor paper with Timber Brown Stazon and water colored with marigold and pumpkin pie ink. Simple, simple. I added some brown eyelets with my Crop-o-dile and set the panel onto dimensionals. The sentiment is one I had in my stash and seemed to fit nicely.
Last night I sat down with my new sewing machine, the instruction manual and Julia's tutorial. I managed to load a bobbin, thread the machine and sew a couple of passes on some scrap pieces of card stock. Julia's tutorial was so helpful, I was able to make adjustments to get the tension set right. This was huge!!! I am so excited!! Today...I try to sew on a card...wish me luck. I guess you will know tomorrow if I was successful.
Blessings!

I love this card - my favorite colors!
I, too, have been practicing on my sewing machine but not quite brave enough to share any creations yet! Hopefully soon!
Can't wait to see yours!

very pretty, Tracy! I just ordered my first backgrounds from CHF a few days ago and *almost* ordered that one. Sigh. I guess if I like them, I will have to order that one next time. :0)
