You're A Star!

I had it in my head to do a red, white and blue card. I recently used my real red ink pad and thought something was really wrong with it, it was definitely not red, pink maybe, but not red. It is one of the first ink pads I bought 4-5 years ago so perhaps time did something to it. The re-inker I had didn't help it either so I ordered a new pad. I wanted to test it out so that is where this card started. Whisper white seemed too stark so I went with naturals white instead. I also just got this Cuttlebug folder and thought it would work. I outlined some of the words in white gel pen and I don't like that now that the card is done. The bottom letters didn't form a complete word so I didn't outline them and it seems lopsided. Live and learn! I used two of the star stamps from the SU hostess set Love It. The smaller star is stamped in white craft onto the night of navy panel. The red and navy stars are stamped onto naturals white, cut out and mounted on dimensionals. I added silver brads and mounted the whole thing on more dimensionals. (I have told you I love dimensionals, right??) I used Karen Foster formal snap stamps in the 1/4" and 1/8" sizes to form the sentiment. I like the ability to create sentiments with different fonts and sizes. In case you haven't heard, they are discontinuing these stamps. I rushed over to Ellen Hutsons store as soon as I heard and got the rest of the ones I had on my list. It looks like she is almost out of her stock as well. These stamps are so wonderful I think they should reconsider!
Thanks for visiting! I will be back on Monday with samples from tomorrow's SCS Central NY stamping get together! I can't wait!

I too like the design of this card! I have the retired Old Glory stamp set and have been wanting to do something with it for the troops. You've inspired me to get on it!
