Glossy Sunshine

I was playing around with some glossy card stock last night and this is what I got!! I just love it when an idea turns out so well. The picture captures most of it but in person it has a very dreamy, soft, art like look.
It started with a piece of glossy paper. I stamped the first layer of sunflower in more mustard and the second layer was inked with pumpkin pie and a ruby red marker added to the center. The center is chocolate chip. Then I took sponge daubers and burnished the color to soften the look. I think burnish is the right term for rubbing in the ink here. I went over the flower with more mustard and the center with chocolate chip. I burnished bordering blue around the edges to soften the white card stock and then went over just the edges with night of navy. I added the leaves and bee to finish it off.
This lay out is a copy of another card I did a long time ago. It is a modified gate fold. The card stock is 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 and I scored one side at 1 1/2. In order to get the sides to match up I brought the left side up to meet the right side and created the fold. I find that if I score both sides it usually doesn't match up all the way. I stamped the front of the bordering blue card with the Cornish Heritage Farm Weave background stamp. The flower is matted in chocolate chip and fastened only to the left side of the card. I added some American Craft ribbon and used one of the sentiments from the SAB Happy Harmony set.
My new catty order is scheduled to be delivered today so I may be back later with something new!!

I love the way your card turned out too! The burnishing adds such a special look! I've never tried the gate-fold, but may have to do that today - really a great card.
