Long Note Album

My younger son, Kaleb, is finishing 3rd grade this week. He has a wonderful teacher, Mrs. Barker. Teaching is a hard job, especially these days. It is such a blessing when your children have a good teacher, someone who makes learning fun, someone who inspires learning and creativity. Mrs. Barker is such a teacher. Kaleb has come to be an avid reader this past year. My older son, Josh, also had Mrs. Barker in third grade. I remember Josh coming home from school on his first day and excitedly telling us his teacher doesn't give tests. Upon further questioning we discovered she only gives "opportunities". I love it!! Our connection to Mrs. Barker doesn't end there, my husband had her as a 6th grade teacher many moons ago before she was married. Greg remembers her as his all time favorite teacher!! Is that just fun, or what??! She is retiring this year so we thought it might be a fun gift to give her a mini album with photos of all three of her Harp students! I had them pose by our swing set individually and as a group. I used an idea from Amy Celona to create this accordion album from an SU long note and envy. We will add some handwritten sentiments before giving it to her later this week. I hope it conveys a little of our appreciation for the impact she has had on our family!!

Supplies used: SU sahara sand long note and envy, certainly celery, coral cameo, pumpkin pie and very vanilla card stock, Doodle This, Friendship Flowers, round tab punch, ticket corner punch, dimensionals, sticky strip, celery grosgrain ribbon, black brad.
