I'm Coming Clean...

on getting dirty!!! What's that? Did I say "dirty"? I failed to mention (cause I'm not allowed to) that much of my stamping this past month was a secret. But the secret is out...I am the newest member of the Splitcoast Dirty Dozen team!! OOOHHH, I am so excited and so glad I don't have to be hush hush over it anymore.

The September gallery is now open so if you are a Fan Club member race over to check it out. If you are not a Fan Club member, can I just say, "what are you waiting for?" It cost about what a yearly subscription would and you get so much inspiration for your money. Plus it supports the best stamping site on the web!!

Now that I have one month under my belt I must say, these ladies work so hard to bring you awesome projects. I am just amazed what goes into putting this whole show on. I feel so blessed to have been invited to join the team.

This month also brings some changes to the DD gallery. We will be continuing with a central theme but adding several great features. Our central theme this month is lost and found, using items found in nature or recycled items, items bound for the trash. This month we have a sketch challenge, an inspiration challenge, a product focus (this month is kraft card stock), and a more is more feature. There are so many wonderful projects this month.

Oh yeah, there is another cool feature starting this month. A thread will be opened up in the Fan Club forum where Fan Club members can chat with the team, ask questions, ect. We are encouraging FC'ers to play along with the themes and post them in the general gallery. How cool is that???

This is a project that I decided not to upload to the DD gallery this month, for what ever reason I decided it didn't deserve to make the cut. My trash to treasure item was a plastic milk jug. I liked the frosted look it had and decided I would use it in an ornament. I love to hang ornaments on my tree that capture the light or somehow reflect the light. I used one of the new chipboard pieces in this months SU holiday mini catalog. I covered it with white craft ink and then in waterfall Stickles. I cut a piece of the milk jug out to match the outer circle and ran it through the Cuttlebug Swirl folder. That worked like a charm! Then I added some icicle Stickles over the swirls to make them stand out a bit more. To adhere the plastic to the chipboard I used sticky tape. I used the new SU silver cord and a couple crystals from the Pretties kit as the hanger. The plastic from the milk jug allows light to come through and all the Stickles add lots of sparkle.

I really like how the theme stretched me to think outside my usual stamping. I hope after you have enjoyed browsing the gallery you will play along and post your creations!

I think sleeping tonight is gonna be tough!!

You also just sold me on the Holiday Mini chipboard... that ornament is totally worthy, silly!
