I ordered this new SU set, A Light Unto My Path, knowing it was a set that would see lots of use in cards I send to church folks. The lighthouse image is just beautiful. It also lends itself to a more masculine style of card. I stamped the lighthouse onto vanilla card stock with Versafine Vintage Sepia ink. SU's Basic Brown would work as well. I watercolored with so saffron, river rock and creamy caramel inks. It already had an aged feel so I finished it off by doing the cracked glass technique. The image is matted to a piece of chocolate chip card stock. I stamped the bottom portion of the 5 1/4" square river rock card with the Weave Backgrounder by Cornish Heritage Farms inked in close to cocoa. I love that backgrounder, it is often just the thing to complete a card. The sentiment is stamped in chocolate chip and the grosgrain ribbon is chocolate.
My SIL and I have spent a good deal of this weekend stamping, we have had a marvelous time. That also means I can probably post everyday. Wahoo!! This is especially good since my week is pretty full.
If you happen to live in the Niagara Falls area, I am teaching a class at the Village of Lewiston Rec center tomorrow night, next Tuesday and the last 2 Tuesdays of February. Check out their web page for details.
Happy Day!
