Day 2 winner ...

is:Lisa K (#5 picked by Random.org) Congrats!
Please email me your snail mail and I will get some goodies out to you!

I enjoyed reading your comments, it brings home the importance of loved ones. And the importance of telling them they are loved.
Let's make today's question a fun twist on yesterday's. If you could spend one day with anyone, not related to you/close friend, who would it be? Leave your answer in a comment by 11pm for the day 3 goodies. I can't wait to read them!
When I was in high school I used to buy those teen magazines and would even write to some of actors. I had a pile of signed photographs that I got in return, probably signed by some assistant. Remember I am turning 40 so I am dating myself, but I got ones from Scott Baio, Tom Selleck, The Hazard boys Tom Wopat and John Schneider. I did get a few handwritten notes from Timothy Gibbs, anyone remember him?? He was in the TV show Father Murphy. Once he became more well known the form letters started showing up in place of the hand written ones and I was heartbroken. My room was wallpapered with the pictures from the magazines. Most of that stuff is just a fun (or maybe funny??) memory now. I'm gonna let you in on my secret...I still have a crush on Jon Bon Jovi, LOL!!! Hubby knows, he's not fazed. It's all innocent! I think it would be fun to spend a day hanging out with him.

Here's a card I made last night. I pulled out an old Hero Arts stamp I have and colored away with markers. The blush blossom piece is embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. I love the look of blush blossom with sahara sand. The sentiment is from Circle of Friendship, I just added a fancy brad to the center.

Have a great Wednesday!

Hmmm...that's a hard one because there are so many to choose from. I think I am most intrigued by Maya Angelou. I can't help but think that those who've had the opportunity to know her are more enriched. There is just something about her personal contentment that draws me to her.

This is a fun one! I would have to go wtih a musician...since I have so many favorites. Maybe Sarah McLaughlin. I love her voice, and her songs are so wonderful to listen to.

You know I would probably have to say God, I'm just starting a relationship with him, and I have a million questions to ask him.

I know this is going to sound so "young", but I would really like to talk with Carrie Underwood. She just seems to be a girl with great morals and I would really like to know more about her.

I would have to say Carrie Underwood. She is my favorite country singer and has always been a favorite of mine to listen to since she won American Idol.....

Wow Tracy! Where do you find the time to make a card every night? It's amazing! I wish I had the time to do that..maybe that's a good new years resolution for 2009? hehehe..

To answer your question, I would say Sarai (Sarah) from the Bible. To have a child in her 90s..wow! To be blessed by God when everyone including herself knew that she was infertile. I'm intriged by what her thoughts might have been and how she handle raising a child at such an old age..then again, she wasn't old by Biblical standards since people died in the hundreds (500+ years). Having fertility issues myself, there's hope for me knowing that God can do miracles by opening up my womb if it's in His will.

Love the card! You are coming up with some good questions. I would have to say GOD I have alot of questions for him and I know he would have alot of questions for me. Thanks for a chance.

If I could spend one day with someone it would be my dear friend Vi. She passed away last year at 96. She was the kindness, smartest and happiest person that I've ever knew. I feel honor to have been a dear friend of hers. She live on her own for the last 40 years only to live her last couple months in a nursing home. She smiled everyone and brought joy to everyone. You would only have to met her once to know how special she was. If I had one more day with her I would ask her some question on life. What to worry about and what not to. And I'm sure she would tell me nothing was worth spending your time worring. But I would love to hear that from her one more time. She is sadly missed.

Hmmm...I think...Debbie Olsen of Thinking Inking! She is just so sweet and I just would love to visit with her.

Boy - this is a toughie and I think I'd probably answer it differently, depending on the day I'm asked. Well today I guess I'd have to say I'd like to meet Oprah and have a nice long chat with her. She'd be easy to talk to and I can picture us laughing and perhaps crying together. Actually, it would really be fun to meet her at "Oprah's Favorite Things" show. I'd love to come home with that load of goodies to hand out to friends, family, and the guy on the street:)

Ooohh, it took me a while to decide on this one. I pick J.K. Rowling. I have immensely enjoyed the Harry Potter series (my whole family loves it, so it's been cool having the books and movies to enjoy as a family), and I would love to spend some time with the woman whose mind created such a great story and wonderful characters.

Wow, that is a good question. God would be an excellent choice, but I choose to go with someone less intense. I would love to spend a day with Keith Urban. I just love his music!

Fun questions! I would love to meet and chat with Andy Warhol. He is obviously one talented, yet kooky guy. It would be very interesting to see what he was like in real-life and see how his brain works!

Someone not related to me, or a close friend? Hmmmmm, I think I would choose Sting. Not only do I love his music, but he was an English teacher and I'd love to sit and talk literature with him over tea!

Thanks!

This is very tough..I keep battling between so many options, but I think I'll let all learning and inspirations stuff go for a toss and spend the whole damn day with Hugh Jackman. I know, its crazy, but he's the best thing on 2 legs I've ever seen!!!
If I had to be serious, would love to get to know how Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote those damn Sherlock Holmes book...he is a fantastic mystery writer..
Thanks for the chance!

Well, this is a tough one. There are several great stampers out there that I'd love to hang out with (I can totally relate to JanTInk....love her blog stories!) Gene Simmons is another down-to-earth- kind of guy (rock star, but I can relate to him as well....just love his show!)

This is tough -- there could be so many. Guess it would be Oprah. I think she would be lots of fun to sit and have tea with and just chat about everyday things.

(Whoops, I entered this on the wrong post...sorry)
I would LOVE a surprise envie filled with goodies to land on my doorstep. Especially since I vowed not to spend any money on crafts this year in order to donate $1000 to the Crohn's and Colits Foundation. If I could spend a day with anyone it would be Oprah. I love to give and it would be so much fun to be with her when she gives stuff away.
Thanks!

This one is really tough! How do you decide?
I'd say Jesus, just so I could be taught by the absolute best!

I would have to say I would love to spend the day with Nicole Heady.
I would love to pick her brain. She has talents that pour from her.
It would be wonderful to spend the day and look over her shoulder.

Hee hee - for me that would be either:

Bob Harper, the trainer from the Biggest Loser (I just adore him!) or maybe Chris Nunez from Miami Ink or Ami even!!!!

Oh, it's so hard to pick just ONE! But since it's winter here and I am CRAVING warm weather and a beach, I'd have to say Kenny Chesney, in the Caribbean! LOL I love his voice and just think he'd be AWESOME to party with! :)

As I was thinking about this...Matt Dillon popped into my head - too weird as I've never been enamored of him. After much thought I have decided that I would like to spend the day with Geri Berg. She's not famous to most of the world but I sell lia sophia jewelry and she is in charge of our designs and I think that would be too cool to get to hang out with her and see her do her job!

My wall was plastered with pictures of Parker Stevenson while my sister's wall had Shaun Cassidy!
I always thought it would be nice to meet Sandra Bullock. I don't particularly care for her acting ability (although she was very funny in Miss Congeniality), but she seems to be a very nice, humble, and down-to-earth person.
Sahara sand and blush blossom does look nice together!

Wow, great minds think alike b/c mine would be Jon Bon Jovi too. Oooh, I just loooove him. My DH knows too, although he's still funny about it once in awhile, LOL. I grew up in New Jersey and when I was in 5th grade in....1986 I guess it was?, the band took part in a drug awareness program and went to a lot of schools in the state. Mine was one of them, although they did a divide and conquor thing, so we didn't get Jon. Tico was still cool though. *g*

I think Marilyn Monroe would be my choice today. I'd love to know her for a day. I bet she wasn't just a dumb blond. She seemed like a lost soul that might have needed a friend or someone to talk to or confide in. What DID happen on that last night?

Pat S. said...

Gosh, what an intriguing question.
I enjoyed reading the answers...dancing with Gene Kelly would be great :)

I think my answer would be Wanda Pettijohn (My Creative Corner!). I get such a kick out of her blog...it would be so fun to spend a day with her :)

I would love to spend the day with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. I want to know what makes a person able to risk everything to change the world when others can't.

I would select JOan BEnoit the first winner of a Woman's Olympic marathon. I would go for a run with her, bake cookies and just schlep along for the ride. she is so normal. unlike most overpaid athletes today.

Sharon in NE said...

Karrie Baker (burnin' rubber, aka.stampgirl). She is so talented and so funny. I think the two of us would have a lot of fun in one day.

OR...Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin. Hey, just think of all the great stories and music I could hear.

Hey, I turned 40 this past August so those names brought back lots of memories for me! I think I was the only 7th grader who *didn't* have a crush on Matt Dillon!! But I did love Scott Baio ~~ man, did I want to be Joanie!! LOL!!

I would love to spend the day with Rachael Ray ~~~ maybe some of her cooking talent (& her energy!!!) would rub off on me!!
