Gift Swap

At our event Saturday we had all kinds of swaps. The card front swap everyone participated in but then we had several other optional swaps. At the end of the day we exchanged our gift swaps. The swap was to be in the $5-$10 range and could be hand stamped or purchased. We traded Yankee Trader style but you couldn't open your gift until trading was done. It is fun to see people steal things based on the look of a bag or its shape. More than 40 of the 50 people came with a gift swap, it was great fun!
This was my gift. It is an adaptation of a Dirty Dozen project I did a couple months ago. The magnetic memo center is a 9 by 12 acrylic frame designed to hold your kids art work. I found it at The Christmas Tree Shop for $1.99. I used some Basic Grey paper, matted with celery and chocolate chip for inside the frame. I added a cork board to the front, a ribbon holder for a pen, a clip for notes and a Post it pad. The buttons are glued onto thumb tacks for push pins. The letters are Thickers foam that were white, I colored them to match. The pencil holder I found at Target on clearance. It was the last one they had or I would've gotten more. The paper was Modge Podged on. The colors went perfectly with my paper. The tape dispenser I posted on before, it is covered with rub-ons. Diane ended up with my gift.

Two of the prizes we gave away were Dirty Dozen packages. Current and alumni DD gals were so great to send cards and we split them up and included an SCS mug and a Fan Club membership. Oh the squeals of delight when we gave away those bags!! They look so amazing when you see them on-line but to look at them in person is really cool. That was one of the perks of being an organizer, I had happy mail everyday for a couple of weeks! Thank you DD gals who sent cards!!! They were the hit of the day!
Blessings on your day, I am off to work.
