Check this out...

Carolyn King is having one of the biggest blog candy give aways ever!! Just in case you haven't heard, she had a "little" idea to raise money for Alzheimer's. Carolyn designed a stamp set put out by Gina K designs called Whimsical Autumn and Carolyn is donating all of her profits to Alzheimer's. Great right? Then she had the idea of sending cards to caregivers of Alzheimer patients. Well, her "little" idea has grown huge and in celebration has a blog candy give away totalling more than $1000.00!! Check it all out here. I love those mustard seed moments in life...you give a little and God grows it into something amazing!!
I have sent a card to be included in her give away but I also wanted to play along by making a card for a caregiver. There is a woman at church who cares for her elderly mother and I know it is a struggle at times. She will appreciate this card.
I wanted a calming card and sunsets seem to be calming. I used a combination of so saffron, tangerine tango and ruby red inks to wipe my sunset onto glossy card stock. The image is from SU's retired, Garden Silhouettes. The picture doesn't show the detail but I went over all the little blooms with a black glaze pen, it gives visual depth and interest IRL. The little birds were an after thought and come from Cornish Heritage Farms set, Pretty Birds. My card stock colors are so saffron, tangerine tango, black and glossy and they look much deeper in person but you get the idea.
Thank you for stopping by, I hope you will take a moment to check out Carolyn's blog and see all the wonderful donations that make up her blog candy. And it is not too late to play along to win!

Gorgeous! Love the colours you achieved with the swipe technique...but I'm mostly thrilled with the way you used the hardware to hold the sentiment. It's so made for the idea, but the idea had never occurred to me before! Love it!
