Polka Dot Punches Sampler

Today I am bringing you another set sampler. The featured stamp set is called Polka Dot Punches and is one of the Sale-a-Bration sets you can earn for FREE starting this Sunday (Feb 1). It is the only set I pre-ordered so I figured I better have some good samples to show and demo! All of the stamps in the set work with one or more of the punches in the catalog, isn't that fun?? The only stamp I did not use in the sampler is the heart. It is gorgeous but I am waiting for the matching punch to arrive. Are you ready?
Up first is this card...

I started with sahara sand as my card base and randomly stamped several of the stamps in kiwi kiss, baja breeze and tangerine tango. Then I stamped them several more times on matching card stock and punched them out using the scallop circle, 5 petal flower, 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1 1/4" and 1 1/3" circles. Whew that was a parade of punches, lol! They are up on dimensionals and one has a fancy brad from the Stylized Silver Hodgepodge set. The sentiment is from the set Essence of Love and is punched out with the word window punch.
Up next is a fun tote bag...

The template for this is from Lauren Meader and can be found here. It is not that hard and super fun to make! It uses the Coluzzle starter kit from the catalog which I just read on the SU demo site is being discontinued by the company. Stampin' Up is already sold out of the refill blades and will only be able to supply the starter kits until their stock is depleted. Just an FYI! The tote is made with bashful blue card stock and trimmed out in white and blue DP from the upcoming SAB paper pack. The bottom edge is scalloped using the scallop edge border punch, I also did some piercing along the edges using the Mat Pack. A bit of white grosgrain ribbon and a stamped/punched embellishment finish it off. It is large enough to fit A2 sized cards inside as well as a host of other items. The finished size is 6" tall, 4 1'2" wide and 2" deep to give you perspective. Definitely a useful size for packaging.
And last, is an out of the box idea...

Trees are all the rage in stamping these days. The new SU catalog is sprinkled with new stamp sets with tress of many different styles. I used the stamp that coordinates with the scalloped circle punch to make the top of a tree. I used artichoke ink on celery paper, the center one is on a dimensional. The trunk is a strip of close to cocoa textured card stock that is cut by hand with a little ink sponged on for depth. The ground is more paper from the SAB paper pack that I cut using the blade in SU's Cutter Kit. I sponged sahara sand ink along the top edges for depth and mounted the top layer onto dimensionals. The sentiment is from the set Upsy Daisy. My very own funky tree! Do you like?
Thanks for visiting! Have a great day!

the tree is so much fun - it would be great for a scrapbook layout. I cased it for my latest team swap as I thought WOW - will be blogging it later with the samples I received too.
