Fifth Avenue Meets Polished Stone

Tomorrow night is class night and I will be teaching the polished stone technique. It really is a fun technique that can have stunning results. We will be pairing it with this fun new rose stamp from SU's Fifth Avenue Floral set. I love the result I got with baja breeze, kiwi kiss and silver inks. I stamped the rose twice and cut them out, one smaller than the other and mounted them with dimensionals. The edges are sponged with night of navy ink for an even more dramatic effect. The camera doesn't pick up the silver very well, so you will have to imagine the shine!

We are altering a silver tin bank. One of my stamping friends gave me a box full of them when she saw they were being thrown out. They were left over from a giving campaign. She is the best!! They have a slit in the top and a plug in the bottom so they can be used over and over. They are almost 5 1/2" tall and about 13" around so we have to use 2 pieces of card stock to cover it completely. The sahara sand is stamped with 2 of the flower images in the set. There are accents of navy grosgrain and kiwi kiss leaves. The tag solved my biggest dilemma, what theme to give the bank. A vacation fund idea wouldn't appeal to everyone, but "a little somethin', somethin'" covers us for a great many things! I hope they like it!
Thanks for visiting!

This is beautiful! I saw your WNY Spring Fest Posts on SCS...I'm trying to see if My cousin wants to go. She's in Williamsville and I was born in Buffalo (used to live in Lockport before moving to the state line area) and the two of us might try and come! Just wanted to swing by and say HI! :P
