DH Gone Wild!!

Friday was my husbands 42nd birthday. When I asked him what he wanted he said a card. But not just any card...he wanted a spinner card that also had a pull-out feature incorporated. What?? He is pretty familiar with challenges that I do on-line and figured I needed to work a bit to make a card this year! There was no way I could let the challenge go. I had an extremely full week (thus very little posting!) so by the time I got to it, it was a day late. But I have completed the gauntlet set before me, lol!!

He has a small collection of frogs and he plays the guitar so when I saw this Penny Black stamp, it was perfect! It is part of a clear set, all frog related. Look for another frog card this week! I used my Copics to color in the image, trying a technique we learned in the certification class last week. Can you see his spots?? (click on the photo to get a larger view) After coloring him in, I dotted the blender pen over top, which pushed the color away, creating spots. It really does make him life-like, at least as life-like as a frog playing a guitar can be, LMBO!! His eyes have a bit of Crystal Effects on them. The bubble Cuttlebug folder added the right texture for the card.

Making the spinner part was easy, figuring how to incorporate a pull-out was another matter. I carefully positioned my dimensionals on the back to leave room for adding something. Using the available space along the top, I used an old Sizzix tab folder die to cut a piece of black of card stock. It needed to be trimmed to fit, but the tab portion was what I wanted mostly anyway. I used a retired SU alpha to spell out my message on the inside...

He loved it!! Success!!
I am working 4 days again this week and have an evening card making class to teach on Tuesday but I hope to have more to show you this week. I did have a chance to stamp for no reason yesterday so now I just need time to photograph and blog about them!
Thanks for visiting!!
