Tote-ally Sunflowers!

This is my second post today so make sure you don't miss the blog candy I posted earlier!
I took a bit of a break from stamping over the weekend to spend some time with friends but I did finish a project I had started last week. Kendra posted a cool chipboard tote on her blog that you can see here. I have a rather large stash of clear boxes so I thought I would make one.

The Big Shot Daisy die was begging to be used and was the starting off point for the whole project. I paired it with the yellow floral print paper from SU's Pink Flamingo pack. (Remember that all this month, SU has a deal on DP, buy 3, get 1 free) Those original dies are great! Did you know you can cut more than one sheet of card stock at a time with those things? It works best on dies that do not have score lines. I cut through 2 layers of chocolate chip with no problem, making this flower quick and easy! The large orange brad was in my stash. The handles are wide chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon, they did not want to stand up for to be photographed though...I guess they were feeling shy, lol. The tote itself is rather straight forward. The chipboard makes a big difference in the heftiness of the tote and it easily stands up. You could cut up a cereal box for a cheap alternative to buying chipboard or use the the piece that comes in the DP packs.

I honestly hadn't thought through what I was going to put inside the tote. I made it simple enough that I could have gone in many different directions. I decided to ink a sunflower stamp I ordered from a friend's TAC party last year. I had never ordered anything from The Angel Company so I got a stamp for comparison. A lot of good it did sitting in a basket for 8 months. It is stamped in brown Palette ink and colored with Copics. I used the rest of my DP for accents, sewing it to a piece of chocolate chip that I ran through a Cuttlebug folder. The main image is cut out with a Spellbinders Label 4 die and propped up on dimensionals. I added a couple of brown Dew Drops as accents. I made a set of 6 cards but in the end the layers and Dew Drops made it so I could only fit 5 cards in the box. Now I have another gift ready to go when the occasion arises.
Thanks for visiting, have a wonderful day!
