Simple Thank You

My oldest son had his last day of school yesterday and my youngest son will be done next Thursday (I KNOW...so late!!). There are lots of things demanding my time lately and I do not have much time for stamping. Yet, I want to stamp, so the solution...simple cards.

Heather (pinefeather) posted a great idea she called reverse punch applique. Heather has such a wonderful style, all her own, and I am always drawn in! Now, sewing is definitely a time consumer especially if it means anything beyond a straight stitch. At least for me. So, I simplified her idea to create some much needed thank you cards.

I used kraft card stock with SU's new melon mambo for this one. That new melon color is so yummy! I used SU's large heart punch and put the new Razzleberry Lemonade DSP behind it. (this idea is great for using up your scraps) Instead of stitching, I pierced some holes around the edge of the heart, it adds just the right touch. I tried one using a melon mambo marker for faux stitches but I prefer the plain version.

The strip of paper is 3/4" wide and I adhered it before punching out the heart. An easy way to make the flag detail at the back is to insert the strip into SU's My Way punch with the arrows. The tip on the largest arrow will take a perfect bite out of the strip and you don't have to worry that it's even! The sentiment is from the soon to retire Holidays and Wishes.
It is time to hit the shower so I can be to work on time!
Thanks for stopping by!
