I did create something for this weeks CHF's Summer Design challenge. We had to do any type of resist technique. Their Leaves #3 backgrounder is a perfect choice for doing emboss resist. Instead of a card, I did a coaster journal.
I embossed 2 rectangle coasters with clear EP and sponged first with Shabby Shutters Distress ink and then went over the edges with Peeled Paint Distress ink. I like how the color of the coasters gives it a more earthy feel. I watercolored the Large bloom from the Shady Tree line and cut it out. I also used 2 different Spellbinder dies. The sentiment is from Unity Stamps. The whole thing is bound together with the Bind it All.
Before making the journal I made this card...
Then I realized that daisy stamp was retired, lol. I stamped it in black and colored in the petals with a white Prismacolor pencil. I added a couple different shades of blue Copic markers and the wax in the pencil resisted the marker. The center was colored in with a brown marker. It is a 4 1/4" square card. A simple design really.
Thanks for stopping by! I have to go get ready for a group of ladies coming over to stamp.
