I hope you enjoyed a restful long weekend! My
DH's cousin and her daughter came for the weekend so we had fun playing host. We canned some more jam, stamped, shopped at my
fav local stamp store (Buffalo Stamps & Stuff) and went to Niagara Falls. We live only 20 minutes from the falls yet find that we rarely go there. But it is usually the place to take visitors. We stayed on the US side, walking around Goat Island, Devil's Hole and Whirlpool park. Niagara River is pretty awesome...and powerful! Definitely not the kind of river to go swimming in. I will concede that Canada has the best view of the falls but just standing next to such an enormous volume of rapidly flowing water is breath taking. Here is a photo of water just as it is going over the falls. This isn't zoomed in either, you can stand that close to the action! (Click on any picture for a bigger view)
If you feel like standing in line for hours and then getting drenched, you can do the Cave of the Winds tour that takes you to the base of the American Falls. The yellow rain jackets they give you don't help much, lol. We passed.
I also have a sneak peak to share with you. On Friday (9/11),
Cornish Heritage Farms will be releasing 2 new scripture sets! One of them is a collection from Mona Lisa Moments called "Thomas
Kinkade Scripture I". Here is a card I made with one of the verses paired with the tulip stamp from the Shady Tree line.
The tulip was watercolored with Distress inks. After cutting out the image with the Spellbinders Labels 4 die, I left the die in place and brushed on some Antique Linen distress ink. I love the white border that is created by doing that.
Thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful card, Tracy and awesome pictures! I'm hoping to talk hubby into a trip to the Falls for our 20th anniversary in April! I'm amazed at your first picture, so up close. That might make me just a little jumpy.... oh wait, WRONG word! Nervous! That's what I mean... NERVOUS!
Love this beautiful and peaceful card, Tracy!
Gorgeous Tracy! Love the card and your photos are stunning! I love going to the Falls. It's been a while!
Beautiful card, Tracy! I'll be going to Buffalo in a couple weeks to visit the in-laws... I'll have to convince the DH to take me to that stamp store!!! (In exchange, I'll go to HSBC arena so he can get more Sabres stuff, LOL!) Gorgeous photos - the American side DOES have some fun stuff to do!
