Graceland Christmas

Today is the official release of the newest Thomas Kinkade stamp, Graceland Christmas, over at CHF. I am just captured by all the detail these stamps have! I will be honest and tell you I was intimidated by them for a long time. They are amazing simply stamped in one color, and using an ink like Versafine will make a world of difference in the end result. Using a really good paper like the Simply Smooth cardstock available at CHF, also makes a big difference. For this sample, I dusted off the Prismacolor pencils.

You have so much control with a pencil and here I went for a muted, antique postcard effect. When I trimmed the image, I left a white edge, like many of the photographs in the 60's. The edges were sponged with some Antique Linen distress ink to add to the vintage feel. The car just
had to be pink, lol.
I am so glad it is Friday! I hope you have a great weekend.
