A couple weeks ago a friend of mine helped me sew some Christmas gifts. I had this "bright" idea but in the end I needed much help to see it through. Usually it's just hubby that gets roped into those projects, lol. Kinda like the bathroom reno, I tore down some wallpaper border and then cried "help" for the rest of it. Once it was started it had to be finished, right?! And it almost is, he has patched the walls, painted the walls and ceiling, fixed the light, installed the hardware and put in a new radiator cover. All that is left is for some artwork and curtains to go up. I told him I could handle that part. I am already thinking up the "my" next project, he he.
Anyway, back to the sewing project. With my friends help my projects are now all complete and 3 things on my gift list are now checked off. A card to thank her was the least I could do, right? I used some fabric scraps to make her this...
I ran the fabric through the butterfly Sizzix die and sewed it onto my card. I stitched the body and antennae so the wings actually "flap" since they aren't adhered down. I used a couple brads at the top of the antennae. The sentiment is hand written.
I like it!
It's Monday so I am off to work. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.
