Sweetest Moments

We have returned from our visit with family. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Did you brave the Black Friday crowds? The guys got up early to go hunting but when they returned we had a chance to go out a bit in the afternoon. By then the crowds were much less. I no longer have the tolerance for crowds and lines, a sure sign of my aging no doubt, lol.

Last week CHF released a new stamp from their Sara England line and when I saw it I knew I had to get it. It's called "Gone Fishing" and with the fishing and the black lab I knew it was spot on for my brother. Here is one of the samples I made with it...

My brother hunts with his dog and she is well trained. My guys love that dog. For many months now my hubby and oldest son have been pressing me to get a dog. Actually, they have been working on me much longer than that. I am just not interested in dog hair, drool or one more thing under foot. Then I started to feel selfish about the whole matter and had a momentary lapse of my will! You know where this is going right???? Readers, meet Daisy Mae...

We have had her now a little over 3 weeks. She is a 10 month old black lab. The lady who bought her as a puppy decided she wasn't up for the challenge and returned her to the breeder. She is actually a very nice mannered dog. She is house trained and doesn't chew things up. We managed to cure her habit of getting onto the furniture. We still have some work to do on the barking and walking on a leash. I am still not in love but for now, she can stay ;).

Have a great day!

OMGosh! I LOVE her! She is so beautiful! And labs are such a great family dog! If you need help training, you have to ask my hubby, Kevin. Everyone comments on how well-behaved all of our dogs are (and have been). He can definitely give you some tips! Have fun with her...I know you will forge a great bond with her!

Oh, and your card is perfect for this post! LOL!!!

Great card and Gorgeous Pup!! That's my dogs name, lol. But I go back and forth between spelling her middle name Mae and May. I don't know why...just haven't decided which I like better!

Hey Tracy - I have 2 labs...i hear you about the hair and barking...though my labs are like my children! They have a bedtime - 6:00 p.m. (and love it) get kibble piece by piece a little rub down for 10 minutes and nada noise till "I" get up in the morning! They are trainable!!! Also - barking...there are collars with citronella that sprays - TOTALLY harmless!!! They don't like it, also a quick learn. No zappers, spikes or yucky stuff...and a groom once a month and voila! I get to be my ol' obsessive/compulsive dog owner and we all live happily ever after!!! Now THIS is the way to fall in love...lol She will love you, hug you and be your best friend once you are in control of the things that make you bonkers!!! Take charge fair maiden!! lol p.s. your card is outstandingly creative and gorgeous... and what can I say...I am a sucker for black labs
