Sweetness!

Did you ever go through that phase where you said "sweeeet" or "sweetness" when ever you thought something was cool?? It is probably a 90's thing. Or with my poor memory, it could even be an 80's thing. Writing my title spurred that memory, er, tangent, lol. Back to point...

It was mY turn to post on the Stampavie site today and here is what I made to share. The image is a from the Sarah Kay line and is called "Time for Apple Pie".

I found this wonderful MM paper from their Je t'Adore line and the peachy pinks and creams called to me. Of course then I ended up covering most it up with my image. In the background is a very subtle print of a handwritten ledger sheet which prompted the notebook edge under the image.

Debbie is a teacher at my LSS, I know I have bragged about her mad coloring skills before. Well, she is the queen of making images dimensional. I have been doing more of it lately myself because it does seem to bring an image to life. Stampavie images lend themselves really well to this technique which is slightly different than straight paper piecing. After stamping and cutting out an image in paper piecing, you would just adhere it over the image, but with this you use either dimensionals or some kind of silicone type adhesive to give lift. Here is a shot of my card so you can see that the bonnet and basket are lifted up.

The silicone glue is really nice because it allows you to be flexible with the amount and where you put it. For instance, on the basket, the handle is adhered flat while the basket has lift. Sometimes foam dimensionals are too big so glue is a better option. I use both, just depends.

Ingredients:
stamps: Stampavie (SK Time for Apple Pie)
paper: MM Je t'Adore DP, Neenah off white, SU retired blush blossom and groovy guava, pear pizzazz
other: Copic markers, Memento black ink, MFT notebook and flower dies, seam binding from Etsy, machine stitching

Have a great day!
