color challenged!

Here is a card I made for a color challenge using almost amethyst, bashful blue and real red. How about them apples??? Even after making the card I am not sold on the combo but the point of challenges is to push you beyond your comfort zone. Well, consider me duely pushed on this one! I used the Polka Dot Posies stamp set from SU's summer mini catalog. I was undecided on whether to order it or not and on the last possible day I caved. I actually thought the polka dot flowers would make a cool shrink plastic bracelet. Stay tuned if that ever materializes. I stamped the flowers in bashful blue and then used my stamp-a-ma-jig to center the red accents. I also used a small flower from the Little Pieces set to fill in some of the white space. I cut a piece of acetate the same size as my stamped panel and used the sentiment stamp in the set in black Stazon. The two layers are secured with 4 brads. I pierced a series of holes down the right side and did faux stitching with a white gel pen. I used the black gingham ribbon to tie it all together. The top folding layout adds another fun element to the card.

I found this site listing every possible celebration on the calendar and today happens to be National Chocolate Milk Shake day. I am not a fan of shakes but I bet the boys will be lovin' this one. Feel free to join us if you need an excuse to have chocolate!!

Hi Tracy,
It's Wendy Saxena. I love your Color challenge card. Can't wait to get to the next Stampin' session. I think you should have your Stampin' Up URL listed on your blog. I am always looking for it to review the online catalog.

Chocolate shakes sound like a great treat for next host club!

Have a great one! - Wendy
