Peace Ornament
I am coming up for air for a minute, I am half way prepped for my week ahead but wanted to share a project we will be doing in my host club this week. I love to make microscope slide pins but sometimes the 1x3 inch size is a bit confining. I purchased these 2x2 inch slides and frames at my LSS. I usually use foil tape but thought I would give these frames a try. They certainly make the process quicker!! (the glass and frames are products by Ranger called Memory Glass and Memory Frames) I used the dove from the Wishing You set in SU's holiday mini catalog. It was inked in the blue spectrum pad onto shimmery white cardstock. To avoid getting the white lines between the ink colors, I twisted the stamp ever so slightly on the ink pad. I wanted the ornament to be reversible so I stamped 2 of the dove image and trimmed them closely. To make it appear to float in the ornament, I cut a piece of acetate 2x2 inches and adhered the doves to that, back to back with the acetate in between. I then sandwiched everything between two glass slides and placed them in the silver frame. I tied a piece of wide organdy ribbon to the loop at the top as a hanger. I suppose you could color the stamp with markers as well but I liked the shades of blue in the spectrum pad. All in all it is a simple project and would make a nice little gift. Thanks for stopping in!!

This is so pretty! Love the spectrum blue dove as an ornament, simply beautiful!
Oh I love this idea! Gorgeous
I love this - now will need this set, and to see if I can find these frames and the glass here in Canada. Thanks!
