1 Layout...Many Designs

I teach a stamping class at my church on Wednesday nights. This past week was our first of 8 sessions and one of the cards we made was this Simply Said card. The vanilla card is 4x10 1/2 folded in half and then layered onto a quarter sheet of chocolate chip. Since I didn't know how many were coming for sure I prepped for 20. We had 15 in class so that left me with extra pieces. Last night I made up 5 different cards using the same basic parts. This is a good way to stretch your creativity and for me the bonus was using up my left overs.

The Birthday blessings card I stamped with Linen in chocolate chip and then ran it through the Cuttlebug with the swirl embossing folder. I ran a close to cocoa ink pad over the swirls to highlight them more. The flowers are inked in apricot appeal and pumpkin pie and then orange Stickles dabbed over top.
The Amour card is done with the Wild Hearts BG in ruby red ink. The two hearts are ruby red and chocolate chip anchored with brown brads. The brown strip is crimped.
The green/brown card is my favorite I think. The details will be hard to see but I first stamped the small flower from the Friendship Flowers set in celery. Then I ran the front of the card through the CB with the stylized flower embossing folder. To mimic the flower in the center, I rubbed celery, garden green and chocolate ink over the embossing. The center flower is one of the Rhonna Farrer dollar stamps I got at Joanns last week, I just love the swirly stems. They kind of reminded me of the clover type plant my MIL has. The flowers are inked in celery with garden green centers.
The purple version of the Rhonna Farrer stamp was the last one I did last night. The card front is stamped with Weathered BG in chocolate chip and then I inked just the flowers and stamped them randomly over the front. I had a scrap of always artichoke that I embossed with the BC swirl folder. The purple snaps are Making Memories that I fastened with my Crop o Dile.

Sometimes I am overwhelmed with where to start when I stamp. Narrowing down your choices, in this case the lay out and colors, can help kick start the ideas. That is one reason I enjoy participating in the SCS weekly challenges. If you find yourself stuck or dry for ideas give a sketch or color challenge a try.

So...do you have a favorite??

They are all great but my favorite one is the brown and green - simply yummy! I love the little flowers stamped on the background prior to sending it through the bug. Thanks for another round of inspiration.
