Glorious Gift

I had a chance to play with another one of the spring mini sets I preordered. It is called Glorious Gift. It has obvious Easter sentiments but the flowers are wonderful, one stem...3 flowers. They have that same texture to the stamp that Close as a Memory has so it gives depth without doing much shading.
This first card I started out with the idea of making a bouquet of flowers but after stamping just the one I really liked it's simple beauty. The stem is old olive and the flower is marigold morning with pumpkin pie edges. I stamped the flower in white onto the kraft card base and when it was done I thought it smacked of Pinefeathers style....I like it (and her work) very much!!

A side note...you will not be able to tell but I have to comment on shimmer paper. I love SU's shimmer white cardstock, it gives such an added elegance to a card. My only complaint is how expensive it is. After reading on SCS (that is the BEST place!!) about a place to buy in bulk, I was off to research. They sell shimmer and gold and silver and ..... but in quantities of 50 for around $16. They also sell a color called poison ivory, a vanilla like version. I had to try it and just love it!! That is what I used on these cards. You can visit Cutcardstock.com to see the Curious papers. The white and vanilla can be found here .

I had to throw in another, this time with several flowers. The flowers here are old olive, marigold morning, regal rose and lavender lace. The marigold piece was embossed with the Cuttlebug Swirl folder.

DH took my boys down to my brothers for a couple of days. They left last night and it was a quiet house!! Today I have lots of things to do to get ready for tomorrows SCS gathering. There are 28 of us getting together from central NY area/PA and we are swapping stuff and sharing shoebox ideas. I am so looking forward to it. I will share my cards with you next week. I also was invited to participate in an ATC swap through SCS and after having declined the last 2 times I was determined to join in no matter what. Who cares if I have never done an ATC??!! I have them both complete and will share those after the swap is over at the end of March.
I am off to enjoy my own company...I have grand plans for myself. Lunch, movie, stamp store shopping....oh the possibilities!! My DH is the BEST!!!

You do a great job on any card you make.

One of your loyal fans. Love it when you use your Cuttlebug!

Oops realized that I put the Cuttlebug wording on the wrong one.

No matter what card you make -- I seem to love.

Even though you didn't use the Cuttlebug on these cards I LOVE them.
