Tuesday's Tip

Well, I have been stamping but unfortunately not anything I can upload at this time. I have swaps for an upcoming SCS meeting and host club projects but I will save those for later. I did work on a project that has been on my list for some time...a punch guide. Have you ever wondered if certain images or words would fit into certain punches? I have scraps of punches on my work space that I grab as a template but I wanted a complete set that was easy to use. I also wanted to dust off the Rubicoil that I just had to have 2 years ago and haven't nearly used enough to justify its purchase. This booklet is 3" x 7", a size easy to pack into my purse if needed. I also thought I would use up some of the Island Blossoms scrap kits I have. I cut several pieces of acetate and punched out one of each SU punch I own. I also have the circles, but that page looks exactly like the square page. Then I used my label maker to create the labels. I placed a piece of card stock between each piece of acetate because it seemed easier to see and use each individual page. I like the punch outs in acetate better than card stock for obvious reasons...you can see through it. I used a 10mm spiral to bind it. You could easily use book rings, ribbon or some other means of binding if you don't own or have access to a binder. You can also write on the acetate with a Sharpie marker if you don't have a label maker. The front is decorated with stickers from the scrap kit, I wanted to keep it simple and functional. The title I printed on the computer and
punched with the Designer Label punch.
I uploaded the photos a bit smaller this time but you can click on them to see it bigger.
It's a fun project that you will use over and over.
Have a wonderful day.

Tracy -- this is just the smartest thing I've seen in a long time!! I don't have many punches (yet) but my SU demo does and I bet she'd appreciate something like this. Maybe I'll secretly use all her punches and make her a cute little book.

I love your blog -- hope you are doing well - take care of you !!!

I LOVE THIS IDEA!
I have a drafting template of circles that I use for circles but this is a great idea for my other punches. I write the smallest size circle the image will fit in on the side of the stamp so I don't have to constantly get out the template.

Thanks for a wonderful blog.

What an excellent idea! I keep a small book in my purse with punched out shaped in it, so I don't buy duplicates but the acetate idea is wonderful - thank you!

Cool idea. I have tried punching acetate with my punches with little success. What type of acetate did you use?

Thanks, Conny (Ladybug2004 on SCS)

Awesome idea Tracy! You're making me want to spend some of my hard earned money on a rubicoil now (sigh). I wonder if I could make up the pages and get them bound like this at an office supply store? Hmmmm.....
