Card Evolution

Sometimes a single card can feel like it takes forever to take shape. Other times your mind just can't wrap around an idea. Still other days your hands can't stamp fast enough to keep up with your creative juices!! That was the case this morning. This is an evolution of a card...
Last night was my last stamping 101 class at church. I love those ladies, we had such a fun time. They even brought me flowers and hand made Easter cookies...so lovely. One of the cards we did was this Easter card. I keep them more on the simple side for class. The stamp set is Glorious Gift. Card base is kraft, other card stock is mellow moss, barely banana and very vanilla. The ink used is mellow moss, marigold morning and black. We did a little faux stitching as well. Since I never know exactly how many people are coming I usually end up with extra cut pieces. In a spurt of stamping energy, I used the left-overs to make 2 more cards and I love how fast it all came together. (now..if I could bottle that up for the days my creativity has taken a vacation!!)

This second card steps it up a notch. I used the Cornish Heritage Farms Weave background stamp in always artichoke on the base. This time I repeatedly stamped the flowers in mellow moss, artichoke, marigold morning, pretty in pink and pumpkin pie. The two larger flowers are layered and popped up on dimensionals. (in case you wondered, yes, I do love dimensionals!!! If my stash falls below 3 full packs I panic!!) I kept with the faux stitching but insead of a sentiment I added organdy and grosgrain ribbon.

The third card takes a different direction. I used the CHF Leaves #3 background. The base is stamped in artichoke and the mellow moss strip is stamped in white craft. I thought I would stay away from flowers on this one so I used the Artfully Asian set for the main image. My first thought was to add a bird to the tree but the only bird I have is this little chick from the Bunny Hugs set and he seemed too heavy to be on the tree. The little grass pieces are a Memory Box stamp. I trimmed the main pieces and anchored it all with additional layers of chocolate chip card stock and ribbon.
These CHF stamps are new to me, they just arrived yesterday. Tomorrow I plan to tell you more about them, I am so excited!
Thanks for all your words of encouragement yesterday, it is very appreciated.
Blessings on your day!

These are awesome! I've been looking for a simple Easter card that I can duplicate fairly quickly for some time now. Thank you for the inspiration!

Tracy, you are so talented, I have been enjoying your blog since I found it. The best part is I know you, so I can just "hear" you going on about the background stamps you just got. Wow they are terrific. I have have a blog too, but have yet to post any of my creations. I really need to get to that. Maybe after the visits from the boys. Have a wonderful day.
