Birthday Cards

Yesterdays color challenge on SCS was a double one in honor of 2 years of color challenges. The bonus was to make them birthday cards for 2 SCS big dogs, Daven and Beate. Here are my contributions. The first combo was real red, black and kraft. I figured that was a good combo for a masculine card for Daven. I used the Best of Cluck set and paper pieced the different parts of the chickens body. If you are not sure what that means, I stamped the chicken once on white and again on red and kraft. I cut out the body from the kraft and the other parts from the red card stock and glued them onto the one I stamped on the white. Fitting them together like puzzle pieces. The wing on his left is also up on a dimensional. I used a Memory box stamp for the grass, The birthday sentiment is from It's Your Birthday. I used the Cuttlebug birthday embossing folder on the red panel and the Weathered background on the bard base. Red brads finish it off.

The second card used pretty in pink, bravo burgundy and always artichoke. The pink panel is stamped with the Weave background from CHF and burgundy ink, it toned down the brightness of the pink. The flower from Bodacious Bouquet is inked in pink, edged in burgundy and cut out 3 times. Each one is on dimensionals so the flower is really 3-D in person. The leaves are also popped up. The sentiment didn't quite make it on the card all the way but at that point I wasn't going to re do it. I also added clear Stickles to the centers of the flowers.
I need to get these off in the mail today.
Thanks for stopping by.
