Green Boots

I have been busy playing with my new stuff and last night it was the Green Thumb set by Papertrey. Totally fun stuff! I love the way it was packaged too. It came complete with a blank CD case for storage. The material the stamps are made of are much more rigid than other acrylics I have so they stamp really nice! In the paper that comes with the set it says it works best with pigment or chalk inks. I have been experimenting with all different kinds of ink. I only own a dozen or so SU craft inks so I was really hoping to be able to use my dye pads and so far so good!! Jen's blogger challenge this week is to make a card only using Papertrey stamps so here is my card.
I used only stamps from the Green Thumb set for this one. I stamped the celery card base with the circle using chocolate chip craft ink. The crickets and small polka dots are stamped in celery classic ink. I wanted the rubber boots to look like rubber so I stamped them with craft ink and embossed them with one coat of UTEE. Sometimes UTEE doesn't coat well with just one coat but it worked beautifully here and I love the look and feel it gives the boots. The sentiment is created using 2 of the words in one of the stamps and since they were next to each other I inked them up separately with markers to stamp them one over the other . That is one of the joys of the acrylics, it makes it super easy to stamp the words where you want with no hassle!! The punches used were a 3/4" & 1" circle punch and the designer label. I really wish the camera did a better job with chocolate chip card stock instead of making it look black!!
Thanks for stopping by! Blessings on your day.

Super cute Tracy! I can't wait to get this set (it's currently on backorder...sob). I was originally going to wait and order on the 15th (as I just knew that I would want the new set too...so why not order both at the same time). Then I kept seeing stinkin cute cards like yours and my resolve broke down...only to find them backordered (sob). Guess all you gals are helping me keep my resolve. :-)

Love all the Springy greens and polka dots on this card.
