Inky Treasures!

I hope it's hormones or something that will be gone tomorrow but today my attitude and mood smell really bad!!!!!!!!!!! I am so grumpy I can't even stand my own self. Ever have days like that? I don't wish them on anyone. So, in an effort to do something positive, I am giving away some Inky Treasures. There are a couple of American Crafts rolls of ribbon, 2 bags of AC eyelets and some Making Memories charmed plaques. Leave a comment on this post and tell me one way you pamper yourself when you are feeling blue. I will randomly draw a winner Sunday at 3pm est.

When I am not is the best of moods...I love to be alone with a cup of coffee, some craft magazines and some soft, soothing music.

When I am blue I like to pamper myself by getting down on the floor and playing with my 3 year old. His innocence is something that always puts a smile to my face. Or I will also pick up a book and sink into fiction land.

Chocolate.. need I say more?? (Or I lock myself in the bathroom with a stack of magazines and the fan on.. then everyone thinks I'm busy and leaves me alone!) Hope you feel better!

When I'm so grumpy that I scare others I "CAN" all the housework, put on a favorite movie and cuddle under a blanket my grandmother made me OR color images stamped while the movie is on. And NO ONE can watch the movie with me, sounds mean but it works!

To improve my ugly mood, I put on some oldies music "really loud" and dance and sing around the room. You know the phrase "Dance like no one is watching?" Well that's me.

When I'm not feeling so chipper, the first thing I try is reading--either a favorite book or magazine. If that doesn't work, I love watching "Anne of Green Gables" videos. I love her philosophy--Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it!
Hope you're back to your old self soon.

a glass of wine always does the trick. The other thing I really enjoy doing for myeself is scrapbooking! If I am ever in a bad mood, I'll sit down and complete a page and really feel accomplished. Scrapbooking is different than making a card because I know it is for me (sounds selfish, I know, but sometimes you just need to self indulge!)

When I'm feeling poopy, I try not to have to DO anything. Sometimes just the pressures of having to do something makes me even worse! I like to go into my crafting area, close the door, take the phone off of the hook and create something just for me. And if I can't get into that, I just try something else until the mood passes. Hope you are feelin' better soon!

When I have those days, I call my sister. I let it all out,she listens and then I go watch tv alone. I like being able to vent. My grumpy moods usually dont last very long. My 5 yr old loves to give hugs, how can I stay grumpy or blue when he wants to hug me.

Lesa said...

I love to have a nice hot bubble bath and eat chocolate! I light the candles and just soak my trouubles away! I hope you are feeling better soon, grumpy is hard to deal with! ;)

Oh my, I hear you ... I was having one of those days yesterday. When it happens unfortunately it seems to land on a day that won't allow for some alone time but truly THAT is what I need. If possible I go for a walk (first I ask GOD to go with me) and as I walk I pray. I ask for help from HIM and I honetly tell HIM all my gripes. Then I think of all the many things I have to be thankful for that very day and before I know it I'm PRAISING and Thanking GOD for everything. Who can be grouchy when they are singing GOD's praises!? If I can't get alone, like yesterday, I turn on music for the boys and get them dancing ... I can't help but laugh when I watch a 5 year old and 1 year old trying to dance!

Hang in there, I know life can be a little crummy at times (and a lot rotten at others). Sure seems like you have tons of blog friends who care and that's a good thing!

When I am frustrated, it is usually due to a crazy day with the kids. Typically, I vent to my DH who then takes the kids out for a drive...simply being alone and taking a bath, surfing the net or making a card does a world of wonders!

When I'm depressed or grumpy, I have no self-control. I'll eat ice cream and chocolate (usually I limit these foods since I "diet")... and I'll go shopping (usually I'm a sales/find a deal type a person). Just do something fun for yourself... it'll be a brighter day tomorrow!!!

I usually cheer myself up with something from the cupboard - thankfully I don't get too down too much.

Enjoy your giveaway!

hi Tracy - sorry you're feeling grumpy - i can relate. What I do is retail therapy. Or at the very least, I like to head to the local Starbucks and bring a magazine and just while away some time, on my own, enjoying some java. I have a preschooler at home, so quiet moments to myself are few and far between and I relish them.

Hope you are feeling like your sparkling self soon - hang in there sister!!

Giving away things when you're grumpy? What a great idea! Giving things to others always makes me feel good.
Things I do to make myslef in a better mood....making myself pretty helps...even a little lipgloss (I love lipgloss). Lighting an aromatic candle or taking a bubble bath. Just a little self-pampering. Spending money doesn't hurt either. LOL

I like to curl up in a blanket and watch silly movies or tv shows. The laughing makes me feel better.

Bubble baths are always a good thing! lol

I have a "Days of Our Lives" bubble bath. You know, the kind with 10" of bubbles! It is so much fun to be surrounded by bubbles that you can't think about your bad mood! Thanks!

Wow, you just described me to a T with my mood lately. Hormones!
To pamper myself I ask myself what I feel I'm missing most in life right now and then try to do it. Shopping, quiet time, a ride somewhere, etc.

I hate days like that, time to myself, a nice warm bath and some relaxing music usually do the trick. If I have money, shopping is even better!!

shopping for stamps, paper, fabric, etc. is a great way to quickly cure the blues!

Go shopping or eat chocolate!

we all have those days... my poor hubby has to live with 3 of us having it at the same time :) I love to get a massage - pay for one! So those days I need extra pampering, I take a shower and head over for an hour & half massage. After that, I'm ready to face anything! and I sleep like a baby... :) Letty

Boy do I have those days! (Unfortunately it's my health problems that cause it) I get so grumpy & miserable that I can't even stand to be around myself. When that happens, I usually just end up going to bed and having a nap. When I wake up, I'm usually in a much better mood.

I find that when I am really grumpy the best medicine for me is to have a big, sweet coffee and chill out on the couch with a good book! My friends with children will be jealous as I know that they never get to do this ... I only have furry children of the dog variety. BTW: I am having one of those days too -- just remember tomorrow is a fresh start.

When I am in a funk or in a bad mood, I like to get a cuppa hot chocotae, go into my craft room and have some "ME" time. This so called "Me" time is rare due to having 3 kids all under the age of 5.

Hugs and great blog,
Catherine

When I'm a bit down, I love to spend time creating something in my craft room and listening to music. A bit of retail therapy does wonders, too! Going out and finding some pretty new ribbon and patterned paper to play with, somehow makes things better! Yes...I lead a simple life! lol :)

Hope you cheer up soon!

Oh man, when I'm in a "mood", I put the top down on the Camaro, put on some jammin' loud music, and ride!! (if it's winter time I turn the heat on and put on a hat so I won't freeze but the top IS down!). I also offer rides to grumpy people I know!! tee hee!

If the weather if fine I will go outside and putter in the garden or just sit and listen to the birds. I try to get away from the family because they don't deserve my bad moods. I would love to go shopping but the nearest store is over an hours drive away.

I like to read, play on the computer (usually reading blogs and scs) or actually creating something. When it gets really bad I like to just clean and put things in order (since that's usually what part of my bad mood is from- disorder)

When I am in a bad mood I like to curl up on the couch and read a good book. It always helps get my mind off whatever is bothering me.

Getting a facial always cheers me up and relaxes me...and sometimes it doesn't cost a thing! Get a complimentary mini-facial and makeover at the Origins store and then go test out a bunch of yummy lotions at Bath and Bodyworks!

pampering myself when i'm blue has always been quick and easy and naturaly (sadly) involves food.

I love a tall glass of very cold milk, a regular size Hershey bar, and a bag of lay's potato chips (and no, I cannot each just one).

A session with these 3 items makes me so very unblue.

I have 3 kids and a army husband and sometimes I need to get aways from it all and I found the best therapy for me is to have a day of shopping all by myself. It always puts me in a better mood.

I usually "share attitude" with my DH and DS till I realize what I am doing then I get off by myself. I chill out, talk to God, and then either "work" on my new hoby, stamping, or I go for the ice cream and a spoon.

There's only ond way to pamper yourself--GO TO THE SPA!

I LOVE the Spa....

When I get the blues, it is usually because I have had no "me" time (I work full time and am a mother to two young and rambunctious boys). So what do I do? I steal time for myself! I take a vacation day and make arrangements to have Oma watch the boys and I indulge in all the things that I can't do typically because of time constraints/responsibilities. I stamp, engage in a little retail therapy, eat Rocky Road ice cream, watch a good movie, read a good book....whatever I feel like doing. Then when I pick up the boys, I order out! Hope you get to feeling more like yourself soon!

When I am in a bad mood I stamp. This is my escape! When I come home from work or wake up in the dreaded bad mood I stamp. I don't know what it is about stamping that relaxes me, makes me forget the bad mood, but it works!

Anonymous said...

I'm a stay at home mom of three children not much time to myself. I too stamp to get happy. When I'm stamping I don't think of nothing else. My other escape is to read. A good book of Chichen soup for the soul always helps!

Anonymous said...

Great blog candy! TFS! I stamp...or just sit in from of the TV and watch a bunch of shows and movies...

Anonymous said...

It must be PMS, which in my dictionary means "Purchase More Stamps"! That sorts out the blues! LOL Hope you're feeling better soon.

When I am grumpy -- all the time-- I try to be extra nice to my kids. It makes me feel better to think that I am turning them into nice people instead of grumpy ones. Also, if I am not extra nice, I know I will be extra mean.

When I'm down I like to be by myself and do something just for me without feeling the guilt of having to do somethng else. I stamp, read or shop. that usually lifts my spirits. Be good to yourself. Nadine P

Well...when I'm feeling down, the thing that lifts my spirits most is going outside for a look at nature. There's always something that makes me get my mind off myself. (of course in winter I just climb into bed with my trusty laptop & surf blogs I've never been to before - always interesting what you'll find!) Hope you're soon back to your ol' charming self! : )
