Singin' & Praisin'

Part of living in a new place is finding your way around and discovering new places. Before we even moved I Googled stamp stores in the area. (come on, you know you'd do it too!!) Other than the chain stores the only one I found so far is called Buffalo Stamps and Stuff. I set out to find it on Monday and am I ever glad I did!! It is about 25 minutes from my house but I will for sure be a frequent shopper there. They had a little bit of everything, lots of stuff I have only ever seen on-line in the past. Whipper Snapper, Karen Lockhart, Artful Stamper, Crafty Secrets, Bellas and more. If my boys weren't with me I would have easily spent all day there!!

I have often considered ordering from Whipper Snapper in the past but never did. Sometimes I am better if I can touch it with my eyes and hands!! This stamp just tickled me and I immediately had this idea in mind. One of my husbands responsibilities at church is to lead Sunday morning worship. He has played guitar and led youth group worship for years and now he is doing it weekly for the whole church. In preparation we have been listening to a lot of music in search of new material. This has been very enjoyable to do together especially since our musical tastes are normally very different. These two critters just look like they are "singin' & praisin'" don't they? I used the neutral watercolor crayons to color in the mouse, I just love how the crayons glide and blend so well. The other one is done with marigold morning and really rust ink. I used bashful blue along the outer edges and artichoke for the grass. The words were done with Karen Foster snap stamps in 1/8" and 1/4" casual. If I had checked the size of my "&" first I would have spaced them a bit better. Live and learn. I matted it with black and really rust and mounted it onto bashful blue that was wheeled with the See You Around jumbo wheel.
Today is the 15th of the month. Have you checked out the Splitcoast DD gallery yet? Awesome stuff. How about the new releases over at PaperTrey? I have some new goodies coming soon, can't wait!
Happy day!

Buffalo Stamps was one of the first stamp stores I was ever in. Sounds like they are growing even more. I will haave to try and get back there next year when we come up. Sounds like you are getting settled in nicely. How are Greg and the boys doing?
