I loved reading your responses to yesterdays question. Here were some of my fav's:
Allison said Brittney Spears so she could set the poor girl straight. Funny!! But I think you may be a bit optimistic if you think a day will straighten up the mess she's in, lol!
Lilian said Gene Kelly, what a great choice! When I first met my DH, his roommate was a old movie buff and made us watch several Gene films. What a great talent that man had!
Oprah was a fav choice, and I agree that she would be an interesting person to spend a day with. As a pastors wife, I loved that people chose a biblical person or God. You ladies had good things to share, thank you.
Thursdays question is simpler...pie or cake???
Leave a comment on this post and I will draw a name at 11pm EST.
Today is my moms birthday. She just discovered my blog recently. She doesn't have a computer but a friend has been kind enough to help her out on occassion. So, "hi" Mom, hope your birthday is a great one!! This was the card I sent her. I hope it got there in time, I never leave enough time for my mail to reach Germany, the New Year always catches me off guard. Since it had so far to go, I didn't bulk it up with lots of embellishments. Simple and sweet!
Thanks for stopping in, have a wonderful day!

Beautiful card...and I hope it gets over here in time for her bday too! Pie or cake isn't an easy one for me. I love berry pies, but I suppose I would choose a piece of chocolate cake with buttercream frosting over a berry pie. So...not so hard afterall! :-)
I would have to say Cake. My fiance likes me to make him homemade Apple Pie but I am not really a pie person. So, I would like a triple Chocolate Cake.. :) lol
I'm definitely a PIE person. I'll take that over cake any day. Any flavor, any kind -- fruit, cream, meringue -- I love it!
Your card is lovely. Love the colors and layout. My answer would be CAKE. I just had a awesome cake the other day and it just melts in your mouth. It was carrot cake with cream cheese with a touch of pineapple in frosting.
Thanks for a chance.

BOTH!!!
Gorgeous card - so simple but elegant. And my answer to the question of the day is CAKE - preferably chocolate, with milk chocolate icing, no nuts or coconut, please.
can i tell you how much i love pink and green together? my FAVE, so of course this card is beautiful!
pie or cake? EASY--CAKE, hands down!! CAKECAKECAKE!! it doesn't even matter what flavor! (my middle daughter's middle name is KATE, and for the longest time, she thought her middle name was CAKE!)
Cake!!!! Anything chocolate with homemade icing!!! Yummy!!! Have a great day!
Hmmm....I love both, but I would probably choose pie. Warm pecan pie with ice cream sounds really good right now. Thanks!
Yvonne C.
Pie, definitely. Apple, chocolate cream, banana cream, cherry, NOT pumpkin! Thanks for sharing :)
I love the colours you chose for your card...very striking!
I would choose pie...my favourite!
Cake...white cake...yum. Oh, but chocolate pie...yum. I guess my answer is both!
So cute your Mom knows about your blog!! I choose cake!! Maybe it's because I've never had real homemade pie. That would definitely change my mind!
Both! Who am I to turn away a treat?!? :)
I love pie! My grandma would make fresh blackberry pie when I was little and it's still my favorite!
I actually don't eat either but if I HAD to absolutely choose it would be pie! Lemon Meringe.
Well, if I had to choose between pie or cake, pie would win hands down. There is just something about the texture of cake, even the most moist, that turns me off. However, if I had my druthers, I would choose a cheesecake--the best of both worlds!
So, your birthday is almost here...has your approached eased the way? :)
That is not fair! you can't ask me to choose between both. But, under torture, I might admit that I love a cheesecake..and dark chocolate cake..
this is tough..
And I'm so salivating right now!
Very pretty card you made your Mom! Pie or Cake....well, it depends what flavor(s) we are talking about. I'm always up for a good home baked apple pie (with ice cream, too!) The cake has to be rich and moist for me to be interested. Don't like lots of frosting. I'd have to say that a rich chocolate cake or Carrot cake are a couple of my favorites. So, I guess, I favor both. What's good on my side of the fence is good on the other side, too, right???
I love it all!! Apple cake, banana pie, chocolate cake, fruit pie, ... Really impossible for me to choose. Unfortunately you can also see this on my weight.
pretty card and happy birthday to your mom!
I will make peaunt butter pie for my fiance because he crazy over pie..
I'm going with cake - yellow cake with chocolate frosting!
Kerry Morgan
Ugh, don't ask me this kind of question when I'm hungry! I'd say cheesecake...but is that cake or pie? Sigh.........
Dina
Pie all the way.....not a cake eater at all!
What a beautiful card! Your mom will love it; I like the pink eyelet border. I would say pie. So many choices: cream, fruit, meringue. My grandma's lemon meringue is my favorite, but homemade blueberry/raspberry is a close second. Thanks for the chance to win.
I just can't choose! Pie -- yum to cherry, apple, pecan and who can leave out the wonderful coconut cream, chocolate cream, lemon meringue -- but with the meringue you bake in the oven.
Then there's cake and buttercream frosting. But my favorite cake is Peanut Butter Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting. This is an old time favorite and I know you didn't ask for the recipe - but you just have to try it.
Peanut Butter Cake
Boil:
½ cup peanut butter
1 stick margarine
½ cup oil
1 cup water
Remove from heat and add:
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
½ cup milk
2 eggs beaten
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
Batter will be thin. Pour into 9x13 pan and bake for 40-42 minutes.
Icing:
½ cup peanut butter
1 stick margarine
1/3 cup milk
Take off heat and add:
1 lb confectioner sugar -- equals 3-1/2 cups
1 tsp. vanilla
Stir until smooth and spread on slightly cooled cake.

oh i love PIE! especially fresh strawberry pie in the summer. and of course, cheesecake is more like a pie, right? :)
I pick cake. Pie is Ok, but there are so many more flavors of cake! I'll take chocolate or carrot. But strawberry is good too.
Love your card! Very pretty! Better go work on a few myself!
PIE! Especially pumpkin! And banana cream. And apple. And....
Oh pie for sure! Pumpkin with lotos of whipped cream or raspberry with vanilla ice cream. YUM! I'm hungry!
Hi Tracy! Cake but oh, especially in the summer, sometimes pie is a must!
Oooooh, that's a hard one! I think I'd have to say CAKE though! :)
Happy Birthday to your mom!
Well, I would have said pie, because I love coconut cream pie. But recently I discovered the best cake. Ooey-Goey Cake!! Absolutely the best thing and outof this world. Very rich, a little surely goes a long way, in more ways than one. If you want the recipe, go to my blog. Trust me, you'll love this one!!!
stampncreate.blogspot.com
I love the card! What a fabulous border on the main image. Happy birthday to your mom!!
I vote for pie. And I will take my fruit in pie form any day!
Well, I'll tell you what my Mom used to say: "When you make a cake, you have to ice it. When you make a pie, you're done." I would take a pie over cake any day of the week.

Great Card. Your mom's going to love it. Cake or Pie??? Pie, homemade, vanilla ice cream, warm, fruit filling, flaky crust....need I say more?
I love pie with lots of ice cream.

Cake! The more chocolate the better....
Cake unless of course that is hot dutch apple pie with vanilla ice cream on the side. I can't pass up a crumb topping and ice cream. Thanks for the blog candy fun this week.
It's pie for me all the way. Lemon Merange please!
Congratulations Nicole!
Thanks for sharing.
Love the color combo in the card for your mom...very nice! Definitely pie over cake if it's lemon meringe....Mmmmmm, makes my mouth water just thinking about it!
What a stunning card...your mom will love it!
I have been looking at those punch/emboss borders...I really like the look of it on your card.
My preference is cake. Pie is just too sweet for me. I prefer cake without icing...a little glaze is ok, but a very moist delicious cake does not need embellishment :)
Gorgeous card!!!
Um, cake! Mocha cake, carrot cake, cheese cake...YUMMY!!
yummm..german chocolate CAKE, boston creme pie (which is really CAKE!) or any other kind of chocolate CAKE! and a la mode is always good, too :)
CAKE, but not just any cake, chocolate with chocolate icing, well then there is the carrot cake with cream cheese icing and the ice cream cakes and then ....oh now I'm hungry!! GREAT card by the way so soft and sweet, lucky mom.
Cake!! I don't eat pie...it is too dry for my taste.
Thanks!
Cheryl KVD
What a stunning card! I'd have to choose pie...cherry, chocolate, lemon, banana cream, peach, blueberry, mmmm!
Thanks for this chance to win!
~Brenda H.
Most definitely cake - preferably carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Thanks for the offer - that's a beautiful card.
Ros
I am more of a pie person because I love savory dishes with pastry!
Jacqueline
In most cases I'd go with the pie because I do not like the majority of cakes. But there is a couple of cake recipes that I make & those cakes could beat out any dessert! When I used to work, my coworkers would buy me a cherry pie instead of the bakery cake with the buttercream frosting that everyone else would get.
Pie or cake is the question? Well
I love cake especially chocolate,
but any kind will do. Love your
card. Very Pretty Barb
Gorgeous card as usual, Tracy!
I would absolutely go with pie... dried apricot or lemon sponge are my favs!
CAKE!!
Love the card.
