Watercolor Posies

Happy Tuesday. Gonna keep this one short, I am running late for work...again =).

This is the first card I made when Anna sent me her new set, Posies for You. I used a Fabriano notecard, they have such a wonderful, rich texture, they lend themselves to no-layer cards. I stamped the bucket and flowers in black Palette ink and used a combination of ink and watercolor crayons to color it in. I love the SU's neutral watercolor crayons because they offer a range of greys and are easy to work with. The WWC "move" on the paper, making them very blendable until you achieve the look you are after. For the flowers I chose inks because I wanted a more vibrant color. I stamped the sentiment vertically for something different. One of the touches you can't really see is the black glaze pen I used on the handle of the bucket as well as for the dots around the flowers. The glaze pen gives a glossy look and feel, slightly raised. The handle IRL looks like black plastic and invites you to touch. Between the fabulous paper, the glaze pen and the ribbon, this no layer card is anything but simple. With a variety of flowers in this set you could make a set of notecards for gift giving.
Blessings on your day, thanks for visiting!
