Shake it!

Happy Friday!!
Shaker cards are so fun aren't they? If you have never tried one, I hope you will soon. This shaker is another one of the projects from my class last night. I love teaching shakers because there are always oohs and ahhs when we are done and I think people are genuinely surprised at how simple they can be.
The whole card uses just one stamp set, the Honey Bees from Paper Trey. I just got mine recently as they were out of stock when I finally went to place my order. (snooze, you lose!). I will share the ingredient list below and for the most part it is self explanatory. Here are a few details though to make sure you don't miss. The black strip was embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder but it doesn't show up in the photo. Embossing even small pieces makes a big impact. The other thing is the bees. The small black bees are stamped onto the acetate with Stazon ink. In person they appear to be hovering over the flowers, really fun element! You can see the shadow they make on the card.

Stamps: Honey Bees-PTI
paper: pumpkin pie, certainly celery, basic black, very vanilla, apricot appeal
ink: certainly celery, apricot appeal, pumpkin pie, black Stazon
other: foam tape, acetate, mini beads, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder

Thank you for visiting!

Very pretty! I've forgotten shakers ... you've inspired me to try one again. When I send them on whoever gets it always loves 'em and that is the best part of all.

Cool! I especially like the butterflies on the outside and the shadow they cast. I've done shakers before, but never thought of doing one as large--really nice idea! Thanks for sharing!
