I went to my LSS yesterday with money and coupons burning a hole in my pocket! The owner does monthly coupons and June's was great, 25% off any one item, 20% off any one item and 15% off any one item. I was so thrilled when I saw she had some of the new long rectangle Spellbinder dies there. I also picked up a new Fiskars border punch and a pack of paper, among other things.
I knew the first thing I would do is make some scalloped note cards. I bought a large pack of this Making Memories double sided paper at Big Lots for just a couple of dollars, figuring it would be good for making a bunch of one thing or using it in one of my classes. I quickly cut out 6 cards. I love it!! I also cut several pieces of chocolate chip which I trimmed into strips for accents. The sentiment is from a new Studio G dollar stamp and I embossed it with vanilla EP to match the paper. The flowers are paper flowers, not sure of the brand as I threw out the packaging. I rubbed some pretty in pink ink over them and IRL it matches better than the photo shows. Next I used one of the round sticky dots I got from one of Jody's sticky shares for the middle and covered it with brown glitter from Doodlebug.
When I was done with that set of cards, I wanted to do more. I dragged out some of the SU rub-ons I have been hoarding since SAB. Come on, I know several of you have some stashed away too! Chocolate chip just does not photograph right. All the rub-ons and accents are chocolate chip, not black. On the soft sky card I used the Think Happy Thoughts set and the tail on the butterfly card was stamped with a Friendship Blooms SAB set, but all the rest are rub-ons. Just a simple set of cards!
These cards will fit nicely in SU's open ended envies.
Thanks for stopping. I have more to share tomorrow!
