Twitch...

My eyes have been twitching for a couple of days now. It is one of the not-so-fun ways my body tells me I am stressed. It's really quite annoying. One of the sources of the stress is my house. It has gotten seriously out of control. I am about ready to call that show "Clean House", lol. DH always says I over dramatize the situation, but when it makes my eyes twitch, I know it is bad. So, I have decided it is time to get down to business and tackle some of those jobs that are hanging over my head. I have no idea how long it will take. Today I only got as far as the bathroom closet, linen closet and my bedroom. I have 5 huge bags of items that will go to the Salvation Army. It feels good to get something done and I enjoyed blasting praise CD's and Josh Groban on the stereo. If I am MIA this week it is a pretty good guess that I am under a pile of something somewhere.

Last month I submitted a project to SU. They were looking for holiday class ideas. My project was not one of the winners but it did get posted to the demo site so some you may have seen this. The holder is 6X6 in size and uses a variety of supplies. I tried to figure out how to attach the instructions I submitted, but alas, I am too dumb and too tired to figure it out. If you would like me to email my word file to you please email me, I would be happy to do so.

Since I am in a purge mode today, I think I will give this Recipe Holder away to one of my readers. Leave a comment on this post and if you would like, share a favorite holiday recipe with me. On Friday at noon, I will draw a winner.

I used the Voila and Recipe sets to create a holiday recipe holder.

Thanks for visiting, have a wonderful day!

Really cute recipe card holder! Thanks for the chance to win it!! As for holiday recipes my family always has me make Honeycomb:
1 cup sugar
1 cup dark corn syrup
1 TBLS vinegar
mix in saucepan, cover and bring to a boil. Uncover and place candy therm. in and cook to 300 degrees. Remove from heat and add:
1 TBLS baking soda
1 TBLS vanilla
Stir quickly and pour onto a buttered 9x13 pan. Do not spread, mixture will spread on own. Cool and break into pieces. Coat with melted chocolate almond bark and harden on waxed paper. Enjoy!!
I love checking out your blog

We must be in parallel lives right now. My eye started twitching last week while at the hairdresser's. I know that it is due to the stress of my calendar, house, yard, etc, etc.!!
Your recipe holder is ADORABLE!! Thanks for the opportunity to possibly hold it in my hands.
I would share my recipe for my orange cranberry jelled salad. It is my family's favorite and is always a hit at gatherings...but sadly, you will have to wait until tomorrow....(right now it is in a cupboard that I've been avoiding and I'm not up to having my eye start twitching again today!! BWHAAHAHAAA!!!)

This is so adorable! You are so generous to give it away!

My recipe is for a fast and easy appetizer.

Heat smokies in a skillet until heated through. Add preserves and allow to warm through.

Serve with toothpicks...yum!

I just found your blog and love what I've seen so far! I can relate to the overstressed eye twitching! Doesn't it drive you bonkers?!?! Hopefully things will settle down for you and it will go away soon.
Here's a recipe for an easy appetizer
Spinach artichoke dip
1 can of artichoke hearts drained and chopped into bite size pieces
1 cup of mayo
1/2 cup of parmesan cheese (I've used the kind in a can and it works terrific!)
1/2 cup of shredded mozzerella cheese
About a 1/2 cup of frozen chopped spinach, defrosted and drained
a dash of lemon pepper
Mix together and heat for a minute or two in microwave and stir
Serve with crackers
thanks for the opportunity to win!

This is a recipe that my mom has made the past several years on Christmas morning, along with several other delicious treats. She preheats the oven before we open stockings, puts it in the oven before we open gifts, and during "intermission" we eat our yummy breakfast. Hope you enjoy.

Maple French Toast Bake
12 slices of bread, cubed
1 package (8oz) cream cheese, cubed
8 eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup maple syrup
additional maple syrup

Arrange half of the bread cubes in a greased shallow 2-qt baking dish. Top with the cream cheese and remaining bread. In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk and syrup; pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking.
Cover and bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Uncover; bake 20-25 minutes longer or until golden brown. Serve with additional syrup. Yield; 8 servings.
