One of my goals for the new year is to participate in more challenges on Splitcoast. I used to faithfully play along and it did so much to stretch me as a stamper. I have missed it greatly. I have never played along with the Featured Stamper challenges on Sundays, but when I saw that Julie was being featured, I knew I had to find time. As a new stamper, I stumbled upon SCS and immediately became a Julie groupie! She is a one of a kind artist and person and I am so grateful to have had a chance to "hang" with her while on the dirty dozen team.
After drooling over several of her cards, I settled on this one. One of the many things Julie "enabled" me to purchase was Fabriano notecards. They are wonderful for watercoloring. I love how Julie cut hers and layered it onto black, such a stunning contrast.
For mine, I changed up the stamp, using SU's new hostess set, Echoes of Kindness. (Look for that in the new catty!) I stamped it twice and colored it with a variety of SU inks. The sentiment is from SU's Fresh Cuts set, I inked it with white craft and used the large oval punch. Julie had used a black glaze pen to add depth so I added a few dots around the flowers, it added just the right touch, I think. I used a ruler to create the border since I am not so good at free handing straight lines.
Not sure I have ever posted twice in one day! I have a fun card lined up for tomorrow, see you then!
