Kiwi Blossoms

I don't often play for blog candy and have never won but two weeks ago I left a comment on the Cornish Heritage Farms blog and won 4 stamps from the newly released Shady Tree Line. What made it even better was that they announced my name on my birthday!! Happy day!
I LOVE these stamps! The images are beautiful. They are fun to watercolor. I would call what I did on these "sloppy watercolor". Seriously, I spent about 5 minutes on each one, maybe even less. Still, I love the final look. There was a woman in the church my husband grew up in that was an artist. She did a lot of watercoloring and many of her pieces are proudly displayed in my in-laws house as well as other church members homes. By the time I met my husband, I think she had passed away so I never met her personally. Her style is unmistakeable and beautiful and these images remind me of her work. I get such joy from looking at her paintings and coloring these images brought me that same feeling.
All the images were stamped with black Palette ink onto a smooth watercolor paper. The leaves were all colored with a combination of certainly celery and kiwi kiss inks. Because the images fall into a "family" of sorts, I made 8 total, 4 of each design, and made them into a set. Hence the kiwi kiss card stock on each one. I used several CB folders and the CHF Pretty Pattern backgrounder as well as different ribbons. The are all framed with Spellbinders scalloped pieces of black card stock. I really wanted the flowers to be center stage. I even left off sentiments for now. I hope you enjoy this walk through the garden...

I still have a couple spots open for the Stampin' Up Designer Paper Share. I will leave it open just a few more days!
Blessings!

Tracy, these are just gorgeous! I think sometimes, the more time we take and "fussy" color, we overthink it! :0) These are very nicely done!

I don't think these look "sloppy" at all! And if it only took less than 5 minutes for each one...kudos to you for being able to create such beauties in such a short time! Lovely cards!
