I'm Back!

We have returned from our vacation! It was a lot of driving but we had a nice time visiting with family in Virginia and with friends in Myrtle Beach. The weather wasn't the warmest but it was warmer than here so it was a nice reprieve from the long, very cold winter we are having. We spent one day at the aquarium seeing some very cool creatures. I even touched a stingray! Hubby picked up a horseshoe crab but I was content to just look at that one, lol! God must have an amazing sense of humor to have made some of these things! Here is a collage of some of our pictures. We are true northerners aren't we??? Who else would go to the beach on a 50 degree day AND go into the water??

I haven't had much play time yet but I do have class tonight so I have a sample to share. I just love this tree from SU's set Thoughts and Prayers! The sentiment is from PTI's set Floral Frenzy and the paper is Graphic 45.

I found out that the Offray Ribbon outlet was just minutes off the highway we took to get to Virginia. The outlet itself is in Hagerstown, MD. It seems rare these days to find a "true" outlet where you really find odd lots and cheap prices. This place was a ribbon lovers dream!! My boys were less than thrilled to say the least but they managed to let me take my time shopping. Honestly, I was so overwhelmed that I didn't buy nearly what I could have! Does that ever happen to you? There were so many choices, I didn't know what to do. I did score a 100 yard spool of 1/4" grosgrain ribbon that is a near perfect match to baja breeze. Guess how much? A mere $10 for the whole thing, that is only 10 cents a yard! Most of their spools were 100 yards and a girl can only use so much ribbon so I didn't get many of those. (note to self-next time take a friend or two to share with) They also had quart sized zip lock bags stuffed with misc ribbon for .35. I know, get out! There were 4 large Rubbermaid totes full of these bags and I got to the bottom of each one. At one point I had a handful and started to put some back and DH said I was being ridiculous questioning .35! Just get it. I know, he's the best. The red satin ribbon on the card above came from one of those bags. You may be seeing a lot more ribbon on my cards in the future! If you are in the area or driving through, I highly recommend stopping.
Thanks for visiting.

So glad you came back energized! I live about an hour and a half from that outlet! So cool! The best bargains I've found there are in these huge cardboard boxes in the back with grocery bags stuffed full of "seconds" . I weed through it and often find goodies to sell on ebay and make enough to pay for what I've bought there! :0) I live in Virginia and have family in PA, so not a trip goes by up I81 without a stop at the ribbon store! (what my kids call it!)
Love your card too:0)

Your vacation sounds wonderful, and the beach is fun any day! Your card is so pretty. I just love this tree, and you combined it so nicely with the paper and sentiment. I know exactly what you mean about feeling overwhelmed. But what a dream!! Oh, my goodness! Just the delight of being surrounded by all that beautiful ribbon...I'm enchanted just when I go to Joann's! Enjoy your ribbon!

Oh GASP Tracy...what a gorgeous card! I love the colors!

Glad to hear you had a good vacation. I'd be in the water too :) That's what happens when you're used to the temperature below zero, 50 degrees is balmy!

Great vacation pictures and welcome back to winter! I just ordered this SU stamp set because of your card! It is terrific! On another note, are you definitely taking the Copic course-I am registered AND have taken the day off! So all I need now is good weather and to know a friendly face will be there!
I sort of dropped the ball on the April 25th demo-do you still want me to do it? If so, I will say yes (with a little nervousness in my voice!)
