Purse-onality!

This week in class, we made a purse tote that is designed to carry A2 sized cards. I made the template myself using 1 sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 card stock and some designer paper. Here is the set we made in class.

We did a OSW of sorts with a 12x12 sheet of designer paper, in this case it was a Making Memories paper. Our cut up pieces became the lid to the purse, the side accent pieces and strips to go onto our cards. I love doing OSW's, the coordination factor is awesome! We used SU's scalloped border punch as well as some Sizzlits (SU's Birds & Blooms, and SU's Lots of Tags) to embellish the purse. The handle is SU's wide grosgrain ribbon and 2 jumbo eyelets. We used SU's Sweet Stems for our stamping, keeping it simple for the sake of time. We did add a Basic Grey magnetic snap closure to keep it all shut, those magnets are the bomb! In class we made 6 cards but there was enough designer paper to do 8. This would make a great gift for someone. Maybe an end-of-year teacher gift.
When I came home, I did another purse using some of the new Parisian Breeze Speciality DP. The texture in that paper is awesome! Everything except for the magnetic snap is SU. Again, I used the Lots of Tags Sizzlit die on the front, layering it with a wide oval punch and a jumbo brad. The border was done with the new eyelet border punch. To change it up just a bit, I added the jumbo eyelets to the sides of the purse and used some striped grosgrain ribbon. I did not make a matching set of cards, I thought I would leave my options open for what goes inside.
My brother and his family are coming for the weekend so I have some housecleaning calling my name! Have a great weekend!

Great purses Tracy. I love your choice in paper. Do you happen to have directions you can share?

I love the purse you made with the SU! products! I was wondering if you could share directions or a blog address that had the directions or if it is exclusive? What a fun idea.

I love both of the purses you made! Beautiful! I, too, would be interested in the directions for the purse and how you used the OSW sheet (I've never done this technique before). This would definitely be great for a end of the year teacher's gift. Oh, please share (with sugar on top - as my son would say - LOL)...thanks much!

I just love the purse you made and I too was also wondering if you would share the pattern for it. I would like to make this for my 80 year old Aunt who sends cards to everyone for everything. Thanks.
