A Tisket, A Tasket...

My husband and oldest son leave Easter Sunday for a mission trip to Mississippi. They will be helping to rebuild homes damaged or destroyed by Katrina. It is hard to believe that 3 1/2 years later there are still thousands of people living in FEMA trailers. For a pastor, Easter and Christmas are probably the busiest times of the year and now add to that planning a trip for 23 people. Needless to say, cutesy Easter projects are not high on the list of things to do around our house. We don't even have time for a ham dinner!

What is a girl to do though when she finds super cute ideas while browsing the net? I justified being diverted by using it as an opportunity to use it as a class project. We only made one version but I had so much fun, I did 3 different ones. Here are the first 2

The bunny idea came from Amy Celona and you can see a different basket idea with the bunny here. The chick idea was inspired by LaurieF. Here version, seen here, is larger and in the form of a card. I used some different supplies and made a smaller version to fit onto the basket. The baskets are a nice size for a table favor and would work beyond Easter for baby showers.
I was having so much fun, I did another one, a bit more simple.

This one uses oval Spellbinder dies, but punches would work too. Or even a Coluzzle. It is also a good way to use up some scraps. I made some fun strips using a couple of border punches and card stock.
I have been sufficiently diverted and now must get back to business! I hope you found some inspiration and diversion of your own. Thanks for stopping by.
