Port Build a Roo

Welcome to your next port of call! I hope you are enjoying this fun and fabulous cruise through the new catalog!
You should have arrived her via Nancy Riley's port, iSTAMP. Didn't Nancy share some great projects? When you have more time you should check out the fun cupcake project she shared earlier this week.

If you are starting the cruise here, Welcome Aboard! You will eventually make it full circle, but if you should get lost along the way, you can visit our home port at Catty Cruise Line!
Today I am going to share some projects done with the cute new set called, Build a Roo. Let's jump right in...

This is a 2, 5, 7, 10 style box made with the fabulous new In Color, Soft Suede. I used the new jumbo wheel, Delicate Dots, to add some pattern to the box and created the handle with a 1 3/8" circle punch. Kanga is watercolored with various SU inks. The flower was stamped again, cut out and mounted on a sliver of dimensional. The sentiment is from the new set, Teeny Tiny Wishes. I stamped it onto certainly celery, punched it out with the Word Window punch and then trimmed the ends after adhering it. The ribbon is rose red grosgrain.

Here is sample # 2...

Ahhhhh, so cute, right? This would make a great card to give to a new mom or mom-to-be. It is a 4 1/4" square card done with kraft, whisper white and some designer paper from Tall Tales. I used my handy little Janome Mini Sew to do the stitching around the edges. If you don't sew, consider faux stitching. The hole is 1" and little roo was watercolored, cut out and set into the hole with a dimensional. He's popping out to say "here I am world". I got out the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the sentiment over the hole. The embellishments are a small bit or ribbon, a soft subtles brad and a chocolate chip corduroy button.

Lastly, is my personal favorite. Sometimes the simple designs can make the biggest impact and that is how I feel about this card.

I stamped mama kanga onto a scrap of Tall Tales designer paper and cut her out. She is up on several dimensionals. The "unique" stamp from the Define Your Life set seemed the perfect message. The right edge uses the scallop border punch and a strip of Tall Tales paper lines the inside. Ribbon finishes it off. This card could be for any age or gender. I think I will use it to encourage my son when school starts.

Toot Toot, the ship is calling. It is time to go to the next port of call...Angie Tieman, Schwoo. She has a fun and colorful style that I am sure will knock your socks off!! Click on the logo below to get there...

Oh, Tracy! Your ROO projects are AWESOME! Your watercoloring on the box is superb, and the details on the second card are amazing (stitching, brad/button/ribbon treatment)! You paper pieced ROO on the 3rd card is just so creative, and the "unique" definition is PERFECT! Way to go, Catty Cruise friend!
