The Pines

I don't know about you, but I feel like September flew by. The chill in the air this week has been a rude awakening that fall is here and winter is probably not too far behind.

Since tomorrow is the start of a new month, it means there is a new Stamp of the Month over at CHF. I think I should just dedicate this whole week to cards for the men in our lives. This month's stamp is called The Pines and is another great option for those oh so challenging masculine cards on our list.

I inked the stamp in Versamark and embossed it with black EP onto a smooth watercolor paper. Then I used various dye inks from Memento to brush on colors of a sunrise. My first layer of color was done with a fairly wet brush so the colors would blend where they meet. After letting it dry (truth be told I am impatient and speed things up with my heat gun) I used a drier brush to add a second layer that appears darker and more defined. In reality it takes just minutes to do and I love that there is no exact science to it, just sweep away with your water brush. The Autumn embossing folder seemed a good match and for added interest, I sponged additional ink onto the edges.
Did you know that Cornish Heritage Farms has a creative blog? The designers are sharing duties posting to the blog several times a week and now there is also the addition of a weekly tutorial. There just might be blog candy as well...hint, hint. You can check it all out here.
Toodles for now!

Beautiful card, Tracy! The previous times I have had the Stamp of the Month from CHF at the store, it has always been a good seller, and this one will be too, I'm sure! I must get an order placed tomorrow!
