To Market...

Happy New Year!!
We are still enjoying an extended Christmas with family. Several years ago the adults went to drawing names for gifts rather that purchasing for everyone. This year we are changing it only slightly to be a Yankee Trader gift with no specific names being drawn. We have a dollar limit of $25.00. That can be a bit restricting unless you are a crafter. Here is my gift.

It's a market bag that is reversible. Honestly, I am not that good at sewing so I had to enlist help from some friends to get this done. I (ahem, I mean we) made 4 in total, 3 I gave away. It was so fun to pick out fabrics for these bags. There are 2 pockets, handy for your keys or in this case, a list pad for your grocery shopping. I filled the bag with several items from Tastefully Simple and these paper crafted items...

I used some of the scrap fabric to make the butterfly embellishment on the note pad holder. I fused the fabric to some chipboard and then ran it through the Big Shot with the SU Butterfly die. Cuts like buttah, I tell ya. I also added some wide grosgrain ribbon and a button. The list pad is 3" by 8 1/2" and the paper is plain. I picked them up last spring in Ohio. The front of the pad uses a variety of papers from Cosmo Crickets Earth Love series.

To finish off the gift, I made a set of 8 cards. I used more of the Earth Love paper, the Butterfly die, a Spellbinder bird die, SU's Top Note die along with sentiments, pearls, and ribbon. Sage Shadow and the retired Groovy Guava card stock were good matches for the Cosmo paper.
I hope the gift goes over well, I know I really enjoyed making it. Hmmm, maybe I will try for it myself, lol.

This gift would make me a very happy girl! Great job on the bag. Did you happen to use a certain pattern or just wing it?
