Here is my shoebox swap for the SCS gathering. I always have a hard time narrowing down what I want to do. Ohhh....so many ideas...so little time!! I settled on a covered Jr. legal pad. I figure it is a different idea and one that people may like for gift giving. I used a piece of chocolate chip card stock 10.5"x 8 1/8" that I scored 5 1/8" from each end. That created a spine wide enough for the pad.
I cut a piece of cool Caribbean card stock 5" x 2", scoring at 1" and 1 1/4" and used that to cover the top binding on the legal pad. The pad is glued onto the inside of the cover. I wheeled the cool Caribbean panel (4.5" x 8 1/8") with Hot to Dot and layered onto the front of the cover leaving some of the chocolate chip showing. Rose ribbon hides the edges. The rest is done with the Be Happy stamp set. It isn't a hard project, just a bit time consuming due to cutting and scoring. Of course now that it is done I am second guessing my choice!!
If you decide to try this you may want need to adjust slightly on the measurements depending on the thickness of the legal pads you buy. I purchased a 5 pack of Ampad white Jr. legal pads at Walmart for 2.00 but they are a tad on the thin side. Make a matching beaded pen and it would be a lovely teacher or co worker gift.
