Winter Roses

I did get a chance to participate in the sketch challenge on SCS. It is a neat fold/pocket style card. Since I didn't have much time I went with an old standby, Roses in Winter. The first 2 layers of roses are inked in cranberry crisp and stamped off once. To get the softer effect, you give the stamp a little twist on the card stock and it blurs the edges a bit. The top layer of the rose was stamped full strength. The first layer of leaves was stamped off as well using old olive. Ever since SU came out with always artichoke my poor old olive gets little use. I sponged the edges with chocolate chip ink and then used the distressing tool on them. I stamped Fine Lace on the top fold. To secure the pocket I used brads. The insert is very vanilla and just the top is stamped and the edges sponged. I cut a piece a old olive 1/4" wider than the top flap to create a contrast along the edge. This worked out better than just a strip as it will be seen once you open the card.
This style of card would be great for a gift card, money or a cocoa packet perhaps. I also think it would make a great invitation or birth announcement because you could run the insert through your printer.
Blessings on your day, thanks for stopping by!
