Altering

I collect stuff...stuff I think I will do something with someday...stuff that I think I can alter or stamp on later. I collect things like fruit cans, coffee cans, notebooks, calendars, trivets...you name it. It has begun to take over my space. I did use a fair portion of it up when I did a craft show in November but there are still piles here and there. The above notepad holder I found at Tuesday morning. I am always in need of notepaper so it seemed like a wise purchase. The cover is fabric in a sort of buckaroo blue color. There wasn't a lot of room to add stuff but that didn't stop me. I started with a chipboard piece from the On Board Accents kit and covered it with a dark brown chalk ink from Colorbox, I love how using chalk or pigment ink makes the chipboard look like suede. Then I pulled out some Basic Grey paper that was collecting dust, ran it through my Xyron and adhered it to some thin chipboard scraps I had saved from the backs of some calendars. I then used my new Cuttlebug die cuts to create the flower shapes. To make it coordinate a bit better I used a chocolate chip marker on the edges of the flowers. They are joined with a copper snap and adhered to the tag using a pop up glue dot. I ran some chocolate grosgrain ribbon around and fastened them with 2 large copper brads. To keep it all in place I used several small glue dots.

I found 6 4" x 4" notebooks that I purchased at Target 2 years ago. These are a good size to pack in a purse or leave in your car. I needed them to be simple and flat so embellishments were out. I also wanted to show off the new SAB scrap kit for my host club ladies so I used just the stickers that come in the kit. It doesn't show but I also used stardust Stickles on them to give them more pizazz!
Thanks for stopping by!

Tracy! What a cute idea for the paper holder. I'm just like you, I have so many things to alter, just waiting for the inspiration (and mainly time). If you ever want to swap out waiting to be altered items...just let me know! :)
