Tower of Caffeine

My version of coffee in the morning is a bottle of Diet Coke! Caffeine comes in many forms after all, LOL! On a recent trip to Joannes I saw this sentiment stamp and knew I just had to have it to go along with the Like it a Latte stamp set (which I REALLY hope makes it into the next SU catty!!).
There is a card on SCS by Sencie that heavily inspired this card. I loved how she added celery marker to the chocolate swirls in the new designer paper and the celery and chocolate chip color combo is just YUMMY!
I think this is my first tall card of this kind, it seems huge to me, measuring 4"X9 1/4" and will fit into a business size envelope. I stamped the cups using chocolate chip craft ink and embossed them with clear EP. I used a celery marker to color in the edges of the cups. When I have used Liquid Applique in the past I always heated it immediately and was fine with the results. Yesterday I thought I would do something novel...follow the directions!! I added the LA and let it dry for about 5-6 hours. I am not a patient kinda gal so I had to leave my stamp room to keep from thinking about it!! Lo and behold...LA puffs much differently when allowed to dry, whodda thunk it?? I think me likes! Not so sure I will always have the patience required to let it dry but now I know. I love the look and feel of LA, it makes a card so fun. I want to run my finger up the cups and lick it!! I think I better go eat breakfast!.
Like I said earlier, I added celery marker to the designer paper and it really ties the whole design together nicely. The sentiment is all on one stamp but seemed too chunky to use as is. I used markers to ink up half of it at a time, it works so much better like that on this card. I mounted the sentiment on dimensionals. During the night I woke up thinking it needed a bit of ribbon so the swirl clip and ribbon completed it this morning.
Thanks for visiting, have a great weekend!!

My husband and I are on the same page as you... diet Coke or Diet Dr Pepper is our morning caffeine. I feel like such a kid ordering pop when we go out for breakfast LOL!

I am so loving this card. I just bought some tropical green tea from a local coffee shop for a friend who has moved away (we love the flavor of this tea and i know she can't get it anymore). I knew I wanted to use this set for a card to include in her packet, now I know what I will do for the card. I just love the celery with the choc. Thanks for all your inspiration.
