Tryin' Something New...

Blogs and on-line galleries are a wonderful thing, aren't they?? So much inspiration at your fingertips. The problem is actually getting off the computer chair and into my stamp room. Yesterday Anna Wight released 4 new Whipper Snapper cling sets so I was browsing through the samples made by this months designers. side note: these new sets are soooo awesome, I ordered 2 right off the bat yesterday. Check them out here. Anyway, as I was looking at Paula's blog, I came across this stunning card. Talk about drooling on my keyboard, lol!! Some people have more talent than should be legally allowed!! Well, I knew I was in over my head but I really wanted to give it a try. Here is my first effort. I know, it doesn't compare but a girls gotta try. I would call this a "pencil over" technique. Paula stamped hers in a very light chalk ink and then used Prismacolor pencils and gamsol over top. Isn't she just too clever?? Well, I used a light green Versamagic chalk ink but I think it was still too dark. I had to add lots of coloring to hide some of the green on the flowers. But I must say, this was fun to do, it has been a long time since I broke out the pencils.
Go out and find some inspiration today....and then stamp something!
